there is lot of rumours going around that GCMS is already implemented and people are now gettign caips and gcms both. does anyone out there has any solid thing on it or it is just rumors. ofcourse we know that gcms is being implemented partially world over and caisp will be role over slowly but no confirmation on whether gcms is already implemented across the world or not

moreover what differences are there in gcms as compared to caips

GCMS is not implemented worldwide at this time.
Applicants won't see any real differences between the two systems in the very near future. Other than those people who get a GCMS report instead of a CAIPS report.

Guys, quite alot cases has been transfered over to GCMS. It's not new that GCMS has been introduced, it's been there on CIC's website that GCMS will be implemented by late 2010 or early 2011.

Those who are thinking to order their CAIPS, pls do so, I ordered mine in Feb this year, I got CAIPS and GCMS both., my file was put through in GCMS in Oct 2010.

GCMS is lot clearer and easy to understand whereas CAIPS is more code based.

Just so everyone is clear GCMS is mandatory to all VO's by the end of this month (March 2011). This is the reason why Buffalo office has been really slow lately (check their website). Here is the CIC Plan

"An independent review completed in June 2009 confirmed that the project schedule is achievable, the technology is sound and the initiative is on track. In June 2010, the first visa office overseas will begin using the GCMS Release 2. Once fully implemented in March 2011, GCMS will provide a single, integrated processing capability for all citizenship and overseas immigration applications."

+1 to you for providing a clear answer to us all.  Do the same costs and procedures apply regardless of which report you order?  Will they send BOTH for the same fee if you ask for them?

Hi Ahmadtajwer and other forum members,
Good to know that they provided you with the two reports. How much was the cost for the two reports? Please if you do not mind, would you paste a copy of your GCSM report here for us? I have no clue what it looks like.

When you filled the form, which one did you mark  x across, Caips or GCSM? I am asking because  i will be ordering Caips in April.

Thanks in advance.

You just apply for CAIPS and if your file is transfered in GCMS, you'll get both notes. You just pay for CAIPS standard charges, you can't apply for GCMS.

Even though I am in Canada, I still had to pay $5.  It was good value!
