I'm not sending my child , will I be expected to show funds for three? .Is sponsored letter acceptable to cover the child  ?. Please share your experience if your children did not accompany you at the first trip.Is it easy to bring them later to join you if you don't put them on the initial application due to some situations. Thanks

In simple words, if you are including your child in the application than you need to show the funds.
Even if s/he will accompany you later(after 2 or 3 months).

Exemption is only possible when you are not gonna include him in applicaiton and plan to call him/her later. That will take lot of time and is not the preferred by most parents.

What do you mean by calling  the child later and why is it not the preferred method by the parents. Is it something too difficult to do supposing one is faced with situation now and that is the only possible method available .How long will  that take if I may ask. Thanks

You have 2 options:
1. Include your child in your FSW application, and show sufficient proof of funds now.
In this case you need to show $17,011 for your family of 3(Principle applicant, spouse and child). Now if you just apply for yourself and spouse it will be $13,837.
Principle applicant can land first and the family can lend latter or the whole family can land togather. The choice will be yours.

2. Now if you are not including your child in application than you'll need to call him after you land there and than sponsor him in family class. Please note than in both cases you'll need money. It can take anything from 4 months to 22 months depending  on your visa office.(Pls check CIC website for it). Not to mention that you need to fill up forms again.

Secondly what someone does in their family is their own business,
But i think most of people will be comfortable with 1st option where in they include their kids in the initial applicaiton.

Well the Immigration will require reason as to why you are leaving the kid behind.
