I am also planning to send by coming week.

My agent sent our initial documents to Sydney, CIO NS & it got delivered on 6th Jan 2011 and got the fedex confirmation about delivery. Now my question is what next from here? How long will i have to wait to hear some kind of news whether our application got selected for further processing or not? If selected, how will we come to know? when they usually send confirmation? Do they send confirmation to our agent or to me? I'm asking you this question b'coz you have gone through this process recently; Please reply at your earliest.

Hi articlemaple, I think you are post 26th June applicant and your documents has reached on 6th Jan-11. After applying you need to wait 2 to 3 months to get PER ( formerly known as AOR - Acknowledgement of Receipt). I am not much aware of new rules as I had applied in May-10 and got my first AOR. I applied to CIO under NOC 3111, on 26th of May 2010 received 1st AOR on Oct 25th,2010. I sent my full documents on Jan 2nd,2011.

Arcticmaple: You have strayed from the flock! Come back to Applications after 26/6 where you are loved and understood! In "the old days", before 26 June 2010, there was something called a simplified application. You only had to fill out the forms and send them in without all the backup documentation that is now required. No IELTS or PCC, no proof of education or work experience. They found many people applied, but when it came to crunch time and all the documents and English proficiency had to be provided, many could not meet the 67 points for eligibility. A lot of CIO time went into processing a huge number of applications that never made it to the VO stage. So ended the Simplified Era and the Post 26/6 Era began. Arcticmaple, don't be misled by their strange timelines and language (THEY will talk about AOR and WE will discuss PER. AOR is a request for documents to be provided to VO by the PRE- 26/6 applicant. PER is the name for Positive Eligibility Review used by the 26/6 clan AFTER their documents have been reviewed and sent on to VO by CIO.) Come back Arcticmaple, come back! LOL
