Hi everyone,
I am lucky enough to be introduced to this group by one of my friends Kamal.I applied to sponsor my husband on 24th February,Since 30th March my file status is "In process". I'm still waiting for the good news.The waiting is killing me, I am really tired and disappointed.I though Damascus is one of the fastest processing centers ,but I guess I was wrong.Wish best of luck for everyone.

as we share the same timelines, nothing happened on my side with damascus too.
got my canadian police clearance they requested and forwarded it yesterday through UPS courier to damascus.
this is day 120 since they started processing my application, and I think that they are really slow nowadays.
if they were honest, they should finalize my application once they get the Canadian clearance.
waiting to see what happens, other applicants on the family class on other forum are not updated since long time too, something is wrong.
hi patrick! I'm from the Philippines. may i know how you were able to obtain police certificate from canada? My husband worked there for two years so we need to get one for him. |

Hi jmpa I will tell you what i did in my case, i went to a special department at the police here which can officially take your fingerprints on a special form which is in english, you stamp this form after taking the fingerprints in the ministry of interior affairs and then in the ministry of foreign affairs, you write a cover letter including your name as in passport, date of birth, the reason you are asking for the clearance, for example the letter you got from your processing center, and your file number, you pay the fees if any are applicable. visit this website http://www.rcmp-grc.gc.ca/cr-cj/fing-empr2-eng.htm took me around a month to get it done. |

its surprising how we have 4 people who exactly share the same timeline, end of march first of april,if one domino falls, we all get our visas, one of us should get it.
when they sent me that request asking for further documents, they said if i dont comply within 60 days, the file will be assessed based on what is in front of the officer,so what if they have them, and thats what i did, obviously they have more reasons to assess it after the 60 days lapse, thats a week from now.
i find syria very slow nowadays, and thats because of the new timelines for the skilled workers, which has a better timeline than the family category now, and more applicants on that side.
