hi Gimbey! Congrats bilis ah! anyway kasi nag register ako ng CIIP seminar pero wala pa date 2nd quarter daw... where ka nag attend ng CIIP? thanks!

Thanks jabba! I registered in CIIP sometime end of January pa and I received a reply from them a day after I emailed them. I attended the CIIP orientation held in Cebu City since I am from Cebu City and it was conducted February 8, the day before we got back our passports with visas.

You are from Manila right? I believe you can inquire in their office during office hours of weekdays and they usually schedule a weekly orientation there, not so sure though. They seldom conduct an orientation outside Manila so when we were invited, we took the opportunity right away. Do you have a copy of their brochure?

You are very welcome, no problem Smiley I see, you are from Baguio pala. We have already completed PDOS but have to do COA pa. Where are you heading pala? Have your working experiences and education assessed as early as now or if not, bring with you all requirements for qualifications assessment so that we will hand carry na lng or mail it to your province assessment office.

I am working now with my daughter's papers especially for her enrollment in school. When you are done with PDOS, they will give you checklist as well as the small handbook as your guide on what to complete before moving to your destination. Please let me know should you require more information. I hope I can do the same  Wink

Hi jangong, I paid US $3,059 which was around 130k pesos for 2 adults and 1 child. Since we are from Cebu, it is better not to go to Manila anymore so we won't be paying additional terminal fee at the NAIA. I tried to book at the PAL office in Jones Ave. but they don't have direct flights from Cebu to Edmonton. Out Manila tanan ilang flights and until Vancouver only. I also tried to book at another travel and tours in Raintree Mall (Gulf Exprss Corp) near Bo's Coffee and Ice Castle but they do not have Korean Air, only Eva Air and also out Manila tanan ilang flights and much expensive by 9k. I asked many travel agencies as to what airlines is cheaper and according to them, Korean Air is much cheaper daw. I am not sure with Cathay Pacific coz when I checked online, it would approximately costs us around 200K plus pesos. Dako ra kaayo!

By the way, if you have child/children below 12 years old, go to Philippine Tourism Authority - Cebu Office so you can request for a 50% discount on travel tax. Travel agencies will ask you to present a Reduced Travel Tax Certificate (RTTC) if you wish to enjoy a travel tax discount for your accompanying child/children. Philippine Tourism Authority is situated in front of Basilica del Santo Nino, City Savings Building. Their requirements include Php 200 fee and passports or visas... if your passports were submitted to embassy for stamping then you need to present you child/children NSO birth certificate.

I hope I answered your questions. I hope sa Edmonton sad mo para daghan ta bisaya didto..hehe...naa sad mi kadungan nga taga Cagayan nga padung og Edmonton. Human naba ka og attend sa CIIP orientation?

Daghang salamat!

Hello Gimbey. Thanks for the information. This is very helpful. I will ask around for the prices and will definitely grab that 50% tax discount!

I plan to attend the CIIP next month. CIIP mentioned that they do not have regular sessions here in Cebu and the next one is on March or April. I asked them to book me in the next available session. When are you departing? We're shooting for June or July - that is if we get our passports soon.

Honestly, up to this very moment, we're undecided yet between the 2, but things are starting to lean towards Edmonton considering the number of jobs available - at least from browsing to different job ad sites (kijiji, eluta, etc). I hope to hear more from the folks in the forum.

Thanks again!

You are welcome jangong.  Smiley Sayang, there 2 batches of CIIP orientation scheduled last Feb 7and 8. My husband and I attended the second day. Cge lng, if you target to move by June or July then they could have probably scheduled another orientation in Cebu by next quarter. We are departing second week of April. When did you submit your passports? It took us 2 weeks only to get our passports back. I hope you will get your passports soon too.

After attending the CIIP orientation, for sure you will get a bigger picture of the labor market in Canada in general. By then, you can weigh things out depending on your priorities. We decided to change our destination after further research relative to our professions and future aspirations.  Good luck to us! Smiley

Hi guys,

We got our passports back with attached visas last February 9, 2012. Submitted our passports January 20, 2012 and medicals made last December 15, 2011. If you noticed, it was really fast!  Smiley Praise the Lord! We are getting ready for our departure this coming April 17.

For those who are in the medical or PPR stages, it is very helpful to attend the CIIP orientation. It helped us better equipped with relevant information with all the needed requirements for easier settlement when we get there. Pre-departure orientation seminar (PDOS) conducted by CFO is a requirement too so never miss all these things.

Have more and more patience pa, we will get our dreams soon if we believe in HIM.

Good luck to all of us!

Daghang salamat!

congrats gimbey. Praise God more
