Hi Starlight! How did they compute your points? May breakdown ba? Ang labo naman nun na wala silang payment na nareceive. Kinabahan din ako ha, kasi I applied as a single sa CIO, tapos we updated our file sa CEM to married upon final submission.

So sorry for you Starlight. Bakit ganun..di nabigyan ng points si husband. Whats the point ng pag papaupdate kung baliwala. I also filed as single then got married..nag update lang din ako...nag bayad din. Kakatakot naman. Same VO... NBA...ang malas naman. Starlight di ba they requested your IELTS pa nga last APRIL...hindi kaya dahil dun. I read kc sa ibang post kahit pasado sa points (>67) basta mababa IELTS score tagilid application. Si Ronskee din di ba..nag request ang VO mag IELTS sia. 10 din score nia sa Language same as yours base sa mga post nio. Nakakatakot

sorry to hear about that starlight. from what i received in my GCMS report, the no. of experience they noted on my file was only 1 year plus when in fact, by the time i submitted my full docs to CEM, I got 2 years plus already. There was also a mistake in the contact no. when my info was encoded into GCMS. I think points are awarded based on your lock-in date, which is the date when you submitted your file to CIO. Im not so sure about this though, please correct me if im wrong.

to anata:
check the guideline..under the new guideline (june 2010)..some documents required can be "certified true copy"...not necessarily originals.
i think re applying is better..tedious but better.

Dear Guys,
I sent Qorax, Saki, PMM, Leon and Maaties senior members from other forum.
Eto tinanong ko....
Does work experience, age, language, education gets locked in "lock in date"? Do visa officers reassess points or do they base points to information during time of submission at CIO?
I'll update you nalang if mag reply sila. Kaiinis naman kc....dapat they give points on the updated info of the applicant. Yun nga nakalagay sa Visa Office Specific Instruction. On page A-1 it states the following...
After you have submitted your application, it is your responsibility to notify our office and provide the relevant supporting documentation if there is a change in your: • family status (marriage, divorce, annulment, legal separation, birth, adoption, death of the principal applicant or any accompanying family member, including grandchildren born to dependent children); • education (completion of another degree); • employment status (new employment, change of employer, loss of employment); or • address/email address/contact information.
Note: The visa officer will base their decision on the documents on file at the time of the assessment and any such changes of which we have not been advised will delay processing or may result in the refusal of the application or the exclusion of a family member.

@ Starlight/ Ronskee,
I'm terribly sorry about cem's decision on your application. Naku starlight, magkapareho pa naman tayo ng noc. Please stay positive that things will turn out well in the end. I do hope they will reconsider your support docs on your appeal and eventually reverse their decision. Please keep us posted.

Eto reply ni Leon about Lock-in dates...
No, it is not locked in. Back in the old days where they were sometimes taking years to process your application, they would ask for updated documents at some point and you would have a chance to add education and work experience to your file. Now it is faster and you do send all the documents already in the beginning so your chance to update is limited.
It would not be advisable to apply if you do not have enough points, hoping it will take long enough for you to increase your points while you wait. You are also no better off to apply with 100 points than with 70. They will not process you faster or anything.

i was so happy about this answer he gave me hope regarding my status in application. i am a pre june applicant... when they ask me to submit full documents that was february 2011 i was worried because i know i lack one point that is why i wrote a letter stating that i only need three months to update my coe so that it can be counted as 4 years that will add the points plus the fact that i am studying masters degree.. i only need a comprehensive exam and a thesis writing in march 2012 i will have my masters degree.. next week or end of this month i will update the coe and enrolment certificate so that they will know some changes in my part... go go go

Hi Jac, yes..the VO based his decision on the file transferred from CIC Nova Scotia which was June 2010.

to chinay:
yung ielts..dapat para ma full 16 points, 6.5 ang scores sa reading, writing and speaking and sa listening..dapat 7.5...pag bumaba sa 6.5 or 7.5..your points decreases by minus 2.

Hello everyone, I am temporarily saying goodbye to all of you guys... I received a rejection letter from the embassy last week. I feel very very bad because i was awarded points based on the documents transferred from Nova Scotia. In the letter, it was stated that i was not given any points for my spouse's education because he is a non-accompanying member of my family and no processing fee was made for him. In the work category, i was only given points for 2 years experience where in fact i have 3 years and 6 months experience in my profession. Today, i will mail my letter of appeal because i feel that i received less points than i should have be. My spouse is accompanying me in Canada together with my 2 kids. I enclosed a Manager's check amounting to Php36,550.00 when i submitted my full documents to them (Manila Visa Office). I am holding a copy of the receipt stating that payment for Processing fee of dependents 1x$550 and 2x$150. I am still possitively hoping a turn of fate for my visa application. In total almost 51 thousand pesos as payment for our processing fee is no longer refundable because i've reached the "in process" level. Regards, Starlight Hi starlight, medyo nanghina naman ako sa balita. But who knows, Canadians are considerate naman and reasonable naman yng letter of appeal mo. maayos din ang lahat. try to re apply na lang included pa naman ata yong NOC mo sa in demand sa Canada.. yong processing fee lang sana marefund pa nila... Godbless dear and keep us posted
