Suspension of Federal Skilled Program As expected, Govt. of Canada is going to suspend Federal Skilled Program. The House of Commons immigration committee has just agreed to hold eight hearings on the matter, beginning next week.
Since 2008, the minister has had the power to limit applications in certain categories. Mr. Kenney has exercised that power for foreign skilled workers and, most recently, the investor program. Canada is not accepting any more applications in the investor program until next summer.
As a result, and also because immigration officials are being pushed to process applications faster, the rate of increase in the backlog has diminished over the years, officials say.
Plus, the wait for some categories of workers — people who have a job lined up, or professionals badly needed in Canada — are usually approved within months.
But others — especially parents and grandparents of permanent residents, and immigrants who applied before the systemic change in 2008 — can spend up to eight years before they receive word about whether they are accepted or rejected.
Now, the challenge is to prevent the list from continuing to grow.

Dear Friends,
New quarterly data is released (Q1 and Q2 untill end of June 2011). It gives little information for Pre June 2010 applicants. It has no specific information of how many visas issued under MI1(Pre June 2010 applicants) and MI2 (post june 2010 applicants) category. It has been more than a year since MI2 (Post june 2010) came to existance and lot of visas have been issued under this category yet no specific information for this category. If they do so then real information about MI1 applicants (Pre June 2010) will come out in public domain so they clubbed the data for MI1 and MI2 to avoid Pre June 2010 applicants irony.
A perfect example of how CIC wants to provide data without being specific so that they can hide information without being responsible and they can get away with public outcry and pressure.
Conservatives have started to show their real intentions.

Hello Everybody, I applied under FSW NOC 4131(Instructor). Now I have changed my job and my new designation is "College Lecturer". Although the job duties
match those of NOC 4131 but there is no specific Job title as "College Lecturer" in the NOC 4131 list available on the website of CIC.
I want to intimate the CIC about job change and seek information about :
1. whether to mention the job title as "college lecturer" or change it to "college teacher/instructor" or any other job title that is available
in the NOC 4131 example titles. 2. Is is necessary that your job title must fall within the example job titles mentioned under a specific NOC(mine being 4131).
Thanks for your valuable suggestions.

Hi, I had applied to the same Job Category (NOC 4131) in May 2010. At the but time I applied, I was full timer, but now I am a part time faculty. I don't think it will affect. So, in your case as well, that won't affect. CIC will check what were you when you applied and whether your experience is fulfilled or not. So, rest assured friend. Expect the MR. Regard, Rabin

How many people are getting interview calls from NDVO. Has anyone of NOC 1111 who sent the full documents to NDVO in August 2010 received any response from the VO.

Hi all, I worked at an institute from 2002 to 2006 as an Art Teacher (4131). Now I am a house wife. At the time of applying PR, I have given a written page to the present principal and receptionist about my job tenure and profile etc. so that in case there is any verification call, they are not confused or anything like that. All the attendance registers have also been made easily accessible in case of physical verification, except some months, which is missing. Please advise, is that OK, if they reply RIGHT at once (taking 2- 3 minutes, for taking out that paper from pocket)? Or they (VO people) may think the answers were pre-planned sort? I also have attached visiting Card of current principal with my package to VO, containing all land line and mobile numbers. I dont have any pics etc. Though I have one salary slip - mentioned on Institute letter head. We were paid CASH. Anything else that can be treated as proof of my working, in case they ask, as they did in Gautam's case. http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/letter-from-new-delhi-visa-office-t85051.15.htmlThank you all. Satnak
