I got this standard reply from New Delhi high commission Dear Sir/Madam,
This is in response to your recent email enquiry to the Immigration Section of the Canadian High Commission in New Delhi.
This application was received at our office on May 14, 2010. Since you applied as a Federal Skilled Worker on or after February 27, 2008 and before June 26, 2010 , your application will take two years or more to be processed. This is due to the fact that Canada received over 425,000 applications under this program during this period. * Unfortunately, it will take longer to process federal skilled worker applications submitted under the first set of instructions (between February 27, 2008 and June 25, 2010) than originally projected.
* During this time, the department received applications for more than 425,000 people, and 144,000 of these have not yet received a decision.
* This number represents more than twice the number of projected admissions under the federal skilled worker program in 2011, so many of these applicants will have to wait two years or more to be processed.
If you wish to withdraw your application, you may be eligible for a refund of your processing fees
We trust that this information will be of assistance.

Hi Lubob & Sridhar, 1. While sending our full set of documents to NDVO, we had had shown a certain portion of our funds in our Savings Account. However, since the processing time has increased to two years or more, we have transferred the funds from our Savings Account to a Fixed Deposit A/c (which fetches higher interest than a Savings A/c) with the same bank and same branch. Would this in any way effect the processing of our application i.e. if and when they check the Proof of funds with the bankers ? 2. Do reply at the earliest please. Regards Can4menu

Hi SandySurrey & all, 1. The reply recd by Sandy seems to be standard. However, I have noticed a slight addition/modification in the reply as compared to replies recd by others earlier and that is - They have included a line stating that "If you wish to withdraw your application, you may be eligible for a refund of your processing fees ". 2. Do they want applicants unwilling to wait, to withdraw their applications ? Regards Can4menu
