 @  arashtdii
Hi,
It doesn't matter at all,its important to be qualified for PR,i hope all of us could be possible to pass this step.does anyone has appx. estimation of processing time in damascus visa office? or how much time does it take? there are plenty of timelines out there and i completely became confused Lips sealed

Hi,
Thanks for your response Hoveisi.
Actually processing time varies per CHC as well as per case. For some fast CHC's like New Delhi it takes less than a year. There was even a case of 5 months. For Damascus which is one of the most crowded it takes around 18 months.
I hope things start to get faster,
Regards

URGENT QUERY please. All docs ready to be sent off to Damascus. Paid the CIO the processing fee by Credit Card. Do I need to send a draft cheque to the embassy in Damascus for the Right of Permanent REsidence Fee as a FSW1 applicant or is it requested at a later stage by the visa office?? Embarrassed

I am about to send a full set of application forms and supporting documents to my Visa Office In Damascus. I would like to know how the documents should be presented from those who have already submitted their application. I have referenced every single document and created an index for each document included, however due to the large number of docs, I would like to know whether it is acceptable to:
(a) hole-punch the docs so that they can be bound together, or
(b) whether the visa offices prefer that the docs are not hole punched and presented loose in the correct order, or
(c) place the docs in clear plastic document folders Huh

Thx for your  help on this matter

Does anyone have any experience with respect to the the current processing times for the Damascus Office for the FSW Programme. Their general website states that for applications received after 28/02/2008, processing times are between 5 and 6 months, but the Syrian Embassy website states that current processing being undertaken is for the Federal Skilled Workers (submitted before 27 February 2008): September 2004?
Also, any advice on the query posted above in quotes regarding method of document submission?

Pssaukcy,
The timelines provided in the Syrian website is for applications under the old system (i.e. before Feb 28, 2008) however the timeline on the CIC is for the new fast track applications which are supposed to take 6-12 months.
However please note that the timeline of 5-6 months for Damascus is for applications whose processing has started.

Let me give you an example:
Suppose there are 10,000 apps in queue. The processing of 100 has started. 80 out of these 100 have been completed within 6 months. Thus CIC states 80% of cases were completed within 6 months (not considering the ones which are awaiting in queue.) While the figure considering the ones in queue is 0.8%  rather than 80%.

Regarding your previous question of how to send full docs to VO, this is what I did:
I categorized the docs into the following groups and put each group in a plastic cover and in the end attached all plastic covers to each other as a single package and put them all in an A3 envelope.
The groups I categorized were:
1. Identity docs
2. Work experience
3. Education
4. Proof of language
5. POF

You can have your own categories. You may also break/merge these categories based on the amount of docs in each group.

Good luck,

Hi Hareega,
By "Pending review" do you mean "in Process" or "Received by Visa Office"? Or maybe something else?
Please clarify. Thanks. Smiley

Hi mbastudies,

Well it says that my supporting documents have been received by Visa Office and they are pending review.

They did not reach the stage of "In Progress" yet, and thats the case since early April, so it is getting boring somehow.

Thank you

Hi Hareega,
You are right. It is slow.
However you received your AOR in 3 days.
It's been more than a month I have sent my docs and l have not received any AOR or E-Case status update.
I think in comparison to that your case was quite fast Smiley
