hi Ladyk,

would u know any universities here in Manila that offers Ortho course/training? is it right "orhto trng/course?

Yes, I heard in UP that there's a two-year post graduate Ortho Course.  (Well, there's been a widespread debate about this:  those of us who trained under preceptorship cannot be called orthodontists.  We can only use the term orthodontics below our name, heheh, out of topic Wink).

Btw, my bankdraft was encashed Sept. 17.

hi ladyk,

if you say notarized, would this mean that we'll photocopy the original doc & have the photocopy be notarized?  I think the original ITR should be kept since from time to time the BIR will look for it if there are any inspection or tax mapping.

pa butt in annjay,

yes photocopy ung i no notarized.

from what i know, the only original doc i gave was my ielts, except of course the application forms.

then kung ano ung sinubmit mo na mga docs sa CIO, have it photocopied as well and put it in a separate folder/envelope para u know (its ur copy) kung anu ano mga docs sinubmit mo.

Translation of documents

Any document that is not in English or French must be accompanied by:

    the English or French translation; and;
an affidavit from the person who completed the translation; and
a certified copy of the document.

Note: An affidavit is a document on which the translator has sworn, in the presence of a commissioner authorized to administer oaths in the country in which the translator is living, that the contents of their translation are a true translation and representation of the contents of the original document.

Important information
Translations by family members are not acceptable.

Certified copies or notarized documents

To have a photocopy of a document certified, an authorized person must compare the original document to the photocopy and must print the following on the photocopy:

“I certify that this is a true copy of the original document”
the name of the original document
    the date of the certification
    his or her name
his or her official position or title
    his or her signature

Who can certify copies?

People authorized to certify copies include the following:

In Canada:

    a commissioner of oaths
    a notary public
    a justice of the peace

Outside Canada:

    a judge
    a magistrate
    a notary public
an officer of a court of justice
a commissioner authorized to administer oaths in the country in which the person is living

yes, even school records, photocopied ones are notarized, yours and that of your spouse. kaya dlawa ang ipapanotaryo, your copy and that of your spouse's copy. better ask an official receipt after paying the notary public. ang ginawa ko diyan, i photocopied our docs mga 5 copies each, tapos un ung ino notaryo. ang 2 notarized copy e maiiwan sa notary public, 1 for submission to CIO, ung 2 extra copy mo yun.

Welcome Hope88 Smiley do u have an agency?

@      annjay, when u bring ur docs to the notary tell them u want a notarized copy of ur docs (have ur xerox ready), am sure they know what to do with it, ganon din ginawa ko, or ask them kung ano mga ilalagay nila at compare mo sa reqmt ng canada kung pareho lang nito:

To have a photocopy of a document certified, an authorized person must compare the original document to the photocopy and must print the following on the photocopy:

“I certify that this is a true copy of the original document”
the name of the original document
    the date of the certification
    his or her name
his or her official position or title
    his or her signature

Persons Outside Canada authorized to certify copies :

    a judge
    a magistrate
    a notary public
an officer of a court of justice
a commissioner authorized to administer oaths in the country in which the person is living

ako pati BIR/Mayors permit, employment cert, tor, diploma pinanotarize ko mga xerox copies, prc etc., that of mine and that of my spouse.

hope matapos mo na rin mga docs mo at ma mail to CIO, GOOdluck!

Yes, have them photocopied and notarized by a lawyer.

ano po ba ibig sabihin nila pag copies of professional certificates? certified true copy or simply photocopy lang? pag certified true copy po ba dapat din ba ipa notarized?

thanks.

Certified true copies will do, no need to notarize.

Question:

What's the importance of informing the VO if one has a new job?

This is specified by both the CIO (PER) :
"Please inform the visa office of any changes in your application (e.g) birth or adoption of a child, marriage or common-law relationship, new occupation or employer, submission of Arranged Employment Opinion approved by Human Resources and Skills
development Canada, change of address, change of e-mail address, change of immigration representative, etc)
and 2nd AOR (Canadian Embassy Manila):
Change in circumstance
Let us know by fax or email if there is a change in your personal circumstances, such as birth of a child, a marriage or divorce
You must also inform us in writing of any
 - change of address, including change of e-mail address;
 - change or cancellation of immigration representative; or
 - request for withdrawal of our application

hi ladyk/westpoint,

i'll take note all your inputs. thanks for all the info.  i'll check first the latest doc checklist in the cic website if there are any changes/updates & gather all the necessary docs.  i'll send you an update along the way if there are querries i need to clarify. this forum would really help.

i'll let you know the docs I have if all are correct in connection with the latest docs checklist to make sure I didn't miss out something.  btw, my wife will still be taking the ielts come march 19,2011 so I need to ready all the docs before the said date so we can submit asap once the ielts result is available.

thanks forum mates.
