From visitor to a student

Hi everyone,
I am new to all these,so i have a couple of questions:
a) Does applying to a career college in fashion design qualify for a study permit?
b) Can i go to canada as a visitor and then change it to a study permit while in canada?
 I am German and my husband is nigerian.
Any suggestions/advice/information will be greatly appreciated!!!

- Are you in Canada or outside Canada? If in Canada, you can try to obtain study permit after receiving admission letter from the instituion. If you are outside Canada, you have to apply for temporary visa first. Again you will need an admission letter to apply or the temporary visa. You will be issude study permit when you enter Canada.b) Can i go to canada as a visitor and then change it to a study permit while in canada?

- After coming in Canada as a visitor, you can try to get admission at your desired institution. Then apply for study permit. daarrkkyy
