Anyone here from the Philippines who already landed and are in Canada already?

I have a question - during the PDOS, we were advised to get another NBI clearance before departure. The reason is to ensure that I will not be put on hold in case immigration authorities do a name check and I have a namesake who has a pending criminal/civil case in a Philipine court of law.

Did any of you who already left the Philippines get another NBI clearance for the purpose of travel abroad/exit clearance? I am thinking of not getting one because I don't think it's necessary and it's also a hassle to get, yesterday there was a 1 kilometer queue just to pay the fee!

Thoughts? Advice? Anyone care to share their experience?

 @ Rubyalabar

If its really needed and you're within Metro Manila... You may visit the  NBI Satellite Office in Mega Mall.  It will be convenient for you since its inside the mall.  The line may also be long but the processing will only take you some few minutes. We got ours in that Office and we're able to get the clearance (from the time we took the line) in less than an hour. (for those not tagged as "HIT" else you'll be required to come back after a few days)

pero Ate Olive, i think the one in Megamall requires that the person has the card that NBI has for using the kiosk. or we can also renew manually without the need for the card (looks like an ATM card). did you renew manually, i mean no card used at the kiosk?

lhou, you've been waiting for too long.  try to contact DHL (official courier) and ask if there's anything that the Canadian Embassy - Manila has for you.  I'm also AINP-Family Stream and mine is just 23 days from PPR to Visa.

Good Luck!

yes it is ok..so that you will not fill up a form again..just show your old /expired NBI clearance..and you will have a new one..if you near Monumento..just drop by at Victory Mall in front of grand central another satellite office of NBI in 5th floor..
my wife  just renewed her NBI yesterday..
hope it could help
God bless Us all Smiley
