nosebleed na nga ako sa lamig. Are you going to winnipeg? I heard almost same ang weather with where i am sa saskatchewan. I got my SIN yesterday, then went to scotiabanl to open an account. They have the startright program for new immigrants. Grab the offer kasi free for 1 year sya and you will be approved for credit card agad.
Iba kasi banking dito, every transaction may bayad. Exame is bank statements, if gusto mo imail sa iyo it's one dollar a month, kaya online na lang. Need mo credit card so you can start building your credit history- important if you want to take out a car or home loan.

Hopefully next month, it's not as cold as you're experiencing now, yes Winnipeg is my destination. By the way, may I ask, what kind of picture the IO ask you? visa picture would be ok? Really you already have your SIN and can apply for credit card even you don't have work yet? That's a very good update, at least you can do it online (same with our banking transactions here).

Yes the 35mm x 45 mm white background. Just have some ready so in case the IO Is not satisfied with picture on your COPR, you can give another one. It's good to be always ready

   hi guys share ko lang sa inyo ung landing experience ko lat Feb. 7, 2011.

Monday morning flight ko via JAL / Air Canda. I arrived NAIA arround 5am in the morning then go to the security and paid P1620 for the travel tax then 6am nagbukas ung window ng JAL then binigyan ako ng boarding pass at checked-in ko ung 2 bagahe ko (ung bagahe ko is 21 kilos each pero sa airport 20 and 19.5 kilos lang, ok na un kesa namn magbabayad pa ng excess baggage). then lumabas muna ako para magpaalam sa family ko na nag-aantay sa labas dalawang beses ako lumabas at buti na lang mabati ung lady guard at naawa cguro sa akin kasi maga ang mata ko kakaiyak sa kalungkutan hehe. then bayad ng terminal fee na P750 at diretso sa immigration then maaga pa namn para sa boarding time kaya nag-ikot ikot muna ako dun sa duty free then around 8:15am punta na ako dun sa gate para magwait.8:40am start na ng boarding at dun nakakaiyak na lalo na ng nagtake off na ung eroplano. ok namn ung service ng JAL at very polite ng mga flight attendant. maaga kami ng 15 minutes sa arrival namin sa japan, ok namn mga tao sa japan at may mga guide para alam mo kung san ka pupunta, from terminal 2 lumipat kami ng terminal 1. then punta ako sa desk ng Air Canada ok namn ung tao dun kaso medyo hirap intindihin ung english na pero very accomodating. 6:40pm Japan time nagboard na kami for the 7:00pm flight going to vancouver (ayos din namn service ng air canada) then maaga kami ng 20 minutes sa arrival sa vancouver, nakita ko rin ung international date line na from night naging day hehe. tapos nun diretso na ako sa immigration at sabi welcome to canada, binigyan ako ng welcome kit, calendar at magazine then pila ako dun sa immigration tanong lang kung nakulong ka na. nademy ka na ba before, o nakapunta ka na sa canada bfore at saka magkano dala mong pera (di namn tinignan) tapos nun pirma dun sa COPR at sinabi nung immigration officer na 6-8 weeks makukuha ko ung PR card ko. tapos punta na ako sa carousel 23 at kinuha ung bagahe ko at diretso sa domestic flight, checked-in ulit ng bagahe at akyat sa 4th floor then diretso na sa security ulit tapos sa gate 41,medyo mahaba haba ung nilakad ko. tapos un flight na papunta dito sa winnipeg pagdatin ko gabi na at sinalubong na agad ng tita ko at pinsan at sabi welcome to canada. the next day kumuha na ako ng SIN at health card saka ng-open na rin ako ng account, then ngaun kukuha pa ako ng drivers license dito.

received my visa and copr last tuesday at 5:02pm... Praise God!  My long wait is over. It's really God's favor because I submitted my passport alone without pix and appendix a, still they consider it. Thank God.
