I applied in september 2008 in NOC 0411. When the 38 occupation list came this NOC was not there. But NOC 0311, which was in the 38 list mentioned in "listed else where" the NOC code 0411. Through case specific enquiry I sent a request to change my NOC from 0411 to 0311. Description of duties in my case remained almost the same. I received a letter in May asking to submit documents in 120 days. I guess it worked. My sugestion to all is to request change of NOC through case specific enquiry if you think your job description matches some other NOC.

Hi SASIF,
It seems like immigration officers are handling cases inconsistently as I hinted before (several posts ago). They are being harsh on some cases whereas others are too luck to be rejected.
CIC hired some new immigrants to assist immigration officers.

Even though it is written that all application submitted after Feb 26, 2008 will be processed in the same way. But now it seems that they are putting those seperately.

Anyone who applied between Feb-Nov 2008 and not under 38 NOC got positive reply ? Positive answer of this question can say that they will process some of the selective applications. Good luck. SYED

Hello all. I applied to the CIC islamabad on 16 sept 2008. Got a letter in october2008 acknowledging the application. In nov. minsterial instructions came but I came to know about it in Dec.My NOC was not in the famous 38 occupation list. Through case specific inquiry facility I asked CIC if I could change my NOC code. They replied that Yes I could. Then I found some duties vaguly fitting my job description and I sent an e-mail requesting change of NOC. This was done on 27 Jan. On 25 May I got a letter qsking me to submit my documents in 120 days. These days I am busy in gathering documents. Hope this might be helpful to you all. By the way in my desperation I tried to consult some lawers but they all said that I NOC did not fit my job description. I think that if the NOC is studied really well almost every one can find the way to fit their jobs roughly in one of the 38 descriptions.
What was email address where you sent the request for modification?
