but my senior who is now in Canada advised me that both the forms are filled separately by applicant and his spouse, the reason is that two separate files are maintained by vo for applicant and spouse so the both forms must be in each file.

I think you are confused with some mixed up information.

As per latest on CIC website the PA ( You ) are the only one to fill up travel details ( form 5562 ) for your family.
Portion a is for you and below portion b is for your wife. If you have children above 18, then portion, c, d, e.

I'll be filling up the forms with single sets only and I believe is the logical thing to do. Time to finalize my documents... submission is near! thanks to everyone! nice exchange of ideas!
