Hi , I still have a question. Although this is a great tutorial, I'm still not clear about the following: you mentioned that for the excel sheets, I can use the following categories:
Serial No | Item Description | Qty | Value (CAD) |
But don't I need to mention which box this item is located in? What if the customs guy wants to take a look at a particular item?
Should I list each item's box #? for example like this?
Serial No | Item Description | Qty | Value (CAD) |
234235 | KitchenAid Mixer | 1 | 100 CAD | Box #22 Kitchen Utensils | 3 | 500 CAD | Box #23,24,25
is this necessary?

Not necessary. The BSO if wants to check your items, would ask u to open all the baggages, suitcases, boxes, handbags etc. However, until u have a banned substance listed (not necessarily contraband, even Foreign Soil, Poultry etc r banned here) u'll not be [usually] asked to open your baggages.

thanks for clarifying that. One more question regarding the 8 item categories of goods to follow: am I allowed to come up with as broad and mixed category as I like? For example, can I have like this: 1) Living room 2) Bedroom #1 3) Bedroom #2 4) Garage 5) Kitchen 6) Patio 7) Shed Miscellaneous then on excel sheets, I can have: 1) Living room sofa tv playstation mirror etc does this sound ok?

Those group headers r vague. U should do better at it. For a normal case scenario, the headers I mentioned in my OP should be well with you. U may use "Home Furnishings/Apliances, Furnitures & Electronics" as One Title.

Thanks alot!
Would you, by any chance, know if I would have a problem with customs if in our goods to follow we include:
- our cabinet of spices (we have a bunch of exotic spices for cooking) but we don't REALLY have to take this. - one medium size box of matzo meal (ingredients are wheat flour & water, made in USA, my friends asked to bring this)

-Spices: Not a prob. Though all r available here; & @ similar prices to your homeland.-Packaged Food: If it doesn't have Meat or Poultry, again not a prob.

To: allgood
U r supposed to mention anything & everything that u'd be wanting to fetchnlater into Canada. It's not just valuable items... even the sundry needs to be listed, else u pay duty (& that's heavy). That includes your *crockery & utensils.
There r no duty free items/goods vis-a-vis Canada. U'll pay for everything... if they get finicky -for clothes too. However, clothing might not attract a duty, unless they r brand new & manufacturer packed.
Qorax *Kitchen items r not needed to be brought in though, they r dime a dozen here... Walmart will get u those in your homeland's price!

Dear Qorax,
I have a question here:
If we can use form B4 for both purposes i.e. for 1) goods accompanied & 2) goods to follow; then what is the use of form B4A, what is this for?
Appreciate your reply as I need to fill the form for landing next week
Very best regards

Can we take eatables like pulses, rice, pickle, chat masala, biscuits, pure ghee, maggi etc. with us to meet the requirements for first week? As we will not boe able to shop etc. right away, we need these things. Please advise.
