Hi Qorax,

Just need your advice,  can we bring pepper (both whole and ground for cooking) and some vegetable seeds for planting?
Our relatives our asking us to bring some.

Thank you.

danjo

Do your part:
Canadian law requires that you declare all FPA products to a border services officer at the first point of arrival in Canada.

All undeclared food, plants, animals, and related products brought into Canada by travellers are potential threats to the health of Canadians and Canada's environment. Many different kinds of items can introduce foreign threats into Canada. These include items as diverse as:
- Sausages
- Apples
- Fashion accessories, such as feather boas
- Wooden carvings
- Live birds
- Seeds
- Sea shells

Food can carry animal diseases or plant viruses, while plants and plant products can carry invasive alien species — such as insects, harmful micro-organisms, viruses, fungi and bacteria. Animals and animal products can carry serious diseases with potentially devastating effects, such as avian influenza and foot-and-mouth disease.

1. It could be in an A4 sheet... many pics clubbed into one page [but clearly visible]...and have to be a color printout.
2. Not required.

Qorax
Ps.: Photo-paper isn't a must.

You can always ask this question when you bring your B4 at the customs counter.

Technically YES... in a separate sheet [they have a value don't they?].

Hi Qorax
I will be doing my first landing in August with only my son to help him with housing and matriculation at a Canadian Uni. I will then leave Canada. The rest of my family (wife and other sons) will follow around December but for a short trip too. We only plan to do the full move sometime next year.

How should I fill up the  B4 and B4A forms?

1.   For our first landing in August, I complete the B4 form for the whole family with tne normal B4A for goods to follow, or

2.   Fill the B4 only for my son and myself in our first landing in August, and the B4A will be the items that my wife and other family members will be bringing in December,

Or how should I complete the B4 and B4A forms?

Many thanks,
B

Hi,

If u had read the OP [original post] minutely, u'd have got all your answers.

1.   For our first landing in August, I complete the B4 form for the whole family with tne normal B4A for goods to follow, or
B4A is just an extension of B4 [the required form] -- it's not the 'form' to be filled by itself for anything. What u require is the B4 'only'. For simplicity, look at it this way - that there's no form called B4A - u don't require it... 'coz addnl goods can be listed on a 'normal' excel sheet.

2.   Fill the B4 only for my son and myself in our first landing in August, and the B4A will be the items that my wife and other family members will be bringing in December,
List everything in one B4 -- for the entire family -- anything & everything, the whole family plans to bring-into Canada later. That'd be your "Goods to Follow" list [GTF].

Make another B4 [only form B4] - for the goods your son is bringing-along with him while 'landing' in Aug-2011 -- that'd be your "Goods Accompanying" list [GAL].

Both, the GTF & the GAL r made in the form B4 only. There's no requirement of the form B4A.

Hope that made sense once again!

Qorax
Thanks a lot Qorax for your clarification. Sorry for not spotting the earlier posting.
1 other question - what if we bought a new item like an IPad 2 or a new laptop after I have done my first landing, while back in my home country, but the new item was not listed in the GTF list? How do I declare the new item when I next enter Canada?
Thanks again

I didn't print them on A4 or photo paper.  Just saved in my android phone, but the officer didn't even look at them.
