I think it was the romanticism of Raffles and the Singapore Sling as a youngster that started it. Then having worked for a few years with Asian factories I found that my counterparts in Singapore were wonderful people. And from a practical note the use of English was appealing. I am sure the reality is much different from my dreams. Smiley

Well I have never lived there, but I do spend a good deal of time there both for business and pleasure. You are bang on about English first time there I was stunned with the quality of the education system, seems no matter where you go they speak more than acceptable English. I would also say that for me, of the Asian countries I have visited SG would be the one I would think would be the most easy to adapt to and you could enjoy the Asian charm with any Western convenience you want. BUT and it's a biggie, it is the most expensive place I've ever seen, but if you can deal with that I imagine it could be very comfortable but over time I imagine it would feel very small as it is... :-)
