4 months nalang yung work permit mo so less than 6 months na yan which is the minimum required for the SOWP. Pero sabi ko nga may mga nag apply na dito na on-going ang work permit renewal ng hubby nila. I suggest sa kanila ka humingi ng tulong. Kasi kung hintayin mo naman ng renewal ng work permit mo, less hassle yun sa asawa mo. Kasi gagawa pa ng explanation letter tapos kasama ata dapat yung LMO mo na bago. nakalagay ba dun yung status mo kung single or married? Hindi ko kasi sure. Review mo lang yung forum malapit lang yung around pages 70 onwards ata I'm not so sure pero andun yung conversation ng mga sis dito na tumawag sa call center asking about that. Medyo conflicting yung case mo kasi sabi mo nga wala ka pang Work Permit na bago tapos dun mo ichchange yung status mo since single ka pa sa LMO. Hindi ko na alam yung mga ganung case. Censya na.

   @   Ynoweh: sis, ikaw ba yung tumawag sa call center to ask about the application during the renewal of work permit? Pa-assist naman si bro. hehe.

Bro, you mean to say, you have the LMO already but have not applied yet for the renewal of WP since your existing WP will expire next year pa, March 22, 2012? Correct me if I'm wrong....Also,  when do you plan to apply for your WP's renewal?

Bro, the SOWP will be based on the expiry of your WP. Tama si Ailooney, less than 6 months nalang ang validity ng existing WP mo kaya if wala kang application for renewal, wala ka din maaattach na letter of explanation (with proof of WP renewal like yun mail courier receipt na ipinapadala sa CPC-Vegreville at may tracking number) kasi LMO palang hawak mo... If however, may application for renewal ka naman, you have to check and assess your timelines because the processing times for the renewal of WP is 103 days (paper application) from receipt of your application by the CPC.. If mag-apply agad ng SOWP wife mo soon, 2.5 to 3 months lang ang processing kaya most probably wala pa yun renewed WP mo.  Mag-online renewal application kaw ng WP instead na paper (same employer). I suggest mag-apply si wifey mo ng mga one month before you expect to receive your new WP...That's what I intend to do, and I hope maging okay ang application namin... Joychel had the similar experience (see page 50).. Yun yung tingin kong option na available for you, medyo konting hintay nga lang talaga..

As to your marital status in LMO, I see no problem with that because as you said October 25 palang kayo kinasal.  At the time your employer applied for your LMO, single ka pa naman talaga diba.. Pag nagapply ka nalang, maglagay ka nalang ng letter of explanation though ala na ngayong nakalagay na details ng TFW sa LMO due to Privacy Act, baka kasi ma-view pa rin nila info mo through the LMO confirmation number.  Pero I think ang basis ng VO would be the documents to be submitted by your wife like marriage cert, CENOMAR, proof of relationship like photos, remittances, etc to prove na hindi mail-to-order-bride thing....

as much as possible sis wag na kau magdala ng maraming handcarry ang hirap talaga tapos me ksama bata,, un ksing sa anak ko mga laruan ang laman,, nagworry kc ako baka mabasag sa luggage kya hinand carry namin eh since 5 p lng baby d ko naman napush na xa ang magbitbit hehehe,,, tapos ung sa akin naman SLR, laptop at Magic Sing ang laman, kya ang bigat talga... tapos meron pa akong ladies bag kc andun ung mga important docs at ung ibang kekelanganin namin,, tapos bitbit pa nmin 2 jackets na makapal at ung gitara nya,, ayaw ksing iwan sa Pinas,, hehehe.. kaya naman talagang ako ang nabugbog.. pero God is really good tlaga,, finally we're here,, ako ang talagang d pa makaadjust.. but i know soon kakayanin ko ito... sobrang lamig kc.. hehehe... so i really wish u good luck sis!!! see u here soon!

mam thank u sa advice, okay lang kaya na single ako sa LMO ko? kasi nag apply ako bago ako umuwi para mag pakasal, then pag balik ko dito my LMO na ako, paano kaya un? pwede ko namn po siguro ipa update un dba po? ang balak ko din po baguhin ung SIN ko ipapa update ko  na married na po ako

I suggest mag change status ka na sa SIN and sa mga tax papers mo lalo na end of the year na. Para pag hanapin man nila ang status mo baka lumabas dun. Nagbago ka na ba ng passport? Married ka na ba dun? Kasi I suggest bro na lahat ng pdeng baguhin ang status baguhin mo na para maconvince sila. Tsaka yun nga.. tama ang decision mo... wait for the work permit. Dibale na maghintay wag lang madeny. hihi Kaya wag kang magmamadali tsaka pati sa pag gather ng papers wag kayong magmadali. Paghandaan nyo kasi baka mas mahirapan kayo in the future kapag hindi nyo naayos ng husto. okies? God bless!

agree ako dito. i got married last october 5 lang din. my wife (sya kasi ang nasa canada) signed up sa website ng canada revenue agency so that she can easily change her marital status. i suggest you do the same. sa passport don't worry kasi wala namang civil status printed on the biodata page. check with your health card provider if you can change status na rin. kung makakakuha kayo ng 2 copies (3 copies mas ok para may extra kayo) ng marriage contract na from NSO, pa-red ribbon nyo na pareho tapos ipadala sayo yung isa. yung isa dun ang isasama ng wife mo sa application nya. tapos ensure that your wife also has updated her civil status dito sa pinas, SSS E-4, BIR form-nakalimutan-ko-na-anong-number, philhealth, etc. yung passport nya, tantsahin nyo kung makukuha on time yung bago when she applies for a change of civil status sa DFA kasi matagal yun eh.
