Hello sis!! Nice to hear from you... If dito, where ka po namili? Cheesy Grin

Hi Ynoweh, pa-share lang. I wanted to buy na din sana winter clothes pero sabi ni hubby, wag na daw. He'll just buy for me and pagpick up nya sa akin sa airport, he'll hand me a winter coat. Coz bulky daw yun and most of the time, yun mga jackets that are available here, di kaya ang lamig sa Canada so medyo useless lang daw. So, I guess it makes sense. But it's up to you if you still wanna buy kahit siguro tag 1 lang kayo nang son mo pang travel nyo.

TO ALL:
grabe ang araw ko... kala ko "THIS IS IT!" na kanina  Shocked
i was walking going to the gate of our subdivision, bigla ba naman meron mini-van ng AIR21 dumating!!! so i was so nervous and sobrang excited... my first EPIC reaction: DROPPED JAW!! tumawag agad ako sa house to tell my mom na abangan nya baka dumating na yung Air21 kasi nakasalubong ko nga,.. with matching super shaky hands pa yun ah! and my mom told me to wait for her text or call kung dumating nga.. and after 7hrs, nakauwi na ko't lahat... WALA TALAGA!!! haaay.... still! iba talaga ang pakiramdam pag sobrang inip na, and makikita mo yung AIR21 nasa subdivision nyo na, pagala-gala lang...

anyway, i dont want to lose hope.. and buti na lang my hubby cheered me up kanina, kasi naiiyak na ko sa dame ng iniisip ko..  Cry
as i have mentioned over and over, EVERY DELAY HAS A PURPOSE...

please help.

thank you po sa lahat...

If your husband's NOC category is C... why did the call center agents recommend Spousal Open Work Permit? I don't know any of the spouses here who has a live-in caregiver husband. That's why when some of our kababayans were asking about live-in caregivers, I always answer them that they have a different program and that SOWP is not applicable to them.

Were you able to tell them that he is a live-in caregiver and he is under NOC C? I'm sorry but among us here in the forum, I can't recall anyone having the same situation as yours. we might not be able to answer you about that. If you could call the call center again and clarify that your husband's NOC category is C and you read that SOWP requires a NOC category 0,A or B, and maybe express your confusion about it, it might help. I have a lot of live-in caregiver friends and none of them had their spouses apply for SOWP. If they still say that you're ok to apply.. please post here so I could also tell my friends. Thanks. Cheesy

hi! thanks for the reply!
I actually called 2 more times just to clarify the info they gave me. I specifically said that live in caregivers are under the NOC category C and the requirement in the website they gave me is NOC category 0 A, and B. She placed me on hold for a few minutes then gave me the same answer when she came back -- that I can apply for SOWP even if my husband is a live in caregiver. I will try my luck and apply for SOWP. Do you know the specific requirements for SOWP? Do I still need to apply for a TRV?
thanks again!

Sa mga nag-aask about winter clothes... i totally agree with Nigella. You don't have to spend so much with something na hindi nyo din naman masyado magagamit dito. Just buy the knitted clothings and mag layer kayo para hindi kayo mabigla sa lamig.

Nung dumating ako dito nung June, nagsimula palang summer nila so medyo +20 pa yun kaya kinaya ko lang ng knitted clothing from Baguio. Pero ngayon ang pinakamatindi na naranasan ko is windchill -44C so may thermal wear plus makapal na jacket. Kung excess baggage na kayo... i would also recommend that your spouse buy or borrow your winter clothes here habang hindi pa kayo nakakabili. Para lang sa pagsundo sa inyo.

Hope this helps. Smiley

That's great news. How many months pa valid yung work permit ng hubby mo? For the requirements, please do back read kasi madami na nakapost na list dito. just click on the pages recently lang may nagpost ulet (page 160, i think). It will just take you a few minutes para makita yun. No need for TRV kasi yung Open work permit will come with a visa na.

Hi sis milleth...

1. In my application, the type of application I ticked on the form was "worker". Sa case mo naman "other"... I see no problem whichever you tick for your son 'coz pareho nmn tayo may MR, I presume ok sa CEM...

2.  Sis, kung ako ang tatanungin, must be Open Work Permit... See this link, http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/manuals/bulletins/2010/ob122.asp and refer to BACKGROUND 7.2 c...

3. He should state HS as his highest educ, kasi un ung education nya na attained na... Considered undergrad pdin po ksi sya sa college at the time of application.... But he can declare it through submission of TOR nya... un sakin po I ticked college.

4. Better po na isubmit nyo.   Original NSO BC ng son mo po and photocopy of your NSO BC and MC..

God bless, sis... We'll pray for your son's application...   Grin Smiley

Ynoweh Thank you very much Sis for your reply. Sobrang dami mong contribution dito sa amin lahat sa forum. Minsan kahit alam mo kung ano ilalagay mo eh parang you still need someone's opinion or help to boost your confidence.

This active pilot program is until July 2012 na lang, so I'm planning to apply next week for his application.

I agree sis... No provinces specified.

@  denissed  You are lucky that CEM customer service confirmed that you are eligible to apply for SOWP even though you are category NOC C. Because from what I have read in this linkhttp://www.cic.gc.ca/english/work/occupations.asp, and http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/work/apply-who.asp#what, Alberta offered open work permit in certain cases only. Good luck Sis and grab the opportunity kasi ako I'm applying for my son's open work permit before July 30, 2012 and as per conversation with CEM last Dec, he is qualified because my husband is in NOC B. Sana those who have family in Canada in low skilled will know about this news para naman makapag-apply din sila.
