Hi, By rules you need to show a bank statement of the last 24 months. However, if you are showing a study loan of around 80 percent of first year tuition + living expenses, you do not need to worry about bank statement. Your certified loan holds more weightage thn a bank statement. If you are not taking any loan, you should get ready with a bank statement of the last 24 months. By rules you need to show a bank statement with no minimum/maximum balance.

I think bank statement should be of previous 4 months. Not 24 months

Hi, I am sure about the requirement of "last 24 months bank statement". I noticed the said requirement in one of the official letter (column number 5th) from CHC Chandigarh. You can even put off last 2 months bank statement as its not a MUST to meet all requirement. You are free to take risk. CHC is very much aware of the fact that an applicant can easily manipulate his bank statement for a short period of time.

Here in this page they say you should submit your bank statements for the past four months if you intend to use funds in a bank account as the proof of financial support.

If you have sufficient funds to support yourself as a student in Canada, you should have no problem maintaining a legitimate bank balance. If you don't have sufficient funds and you are just borrowing the money and placing it in your bank to make it look like you do, then that's wrong. I don't think the immigration people are stupid, I think they look for things like that.
