Hello BC Guy & Leon,
I haven't read many post related to creative and media industry. Since I have got this opportunity to ask it will help other creative buddies looking to settle in Canada. My Case: Currently I am outside Canada; I have a job offer from BC employer as a graphic designer/creative director. We intend to apply thru BC PNP route. I have researched some documents such as Skill shortage report 2011 and BC PNP evaluation report to understand the demand in our creative or digital media industry. But haven't come down to any conclusion. I am looking forward to apply under British Columbia PNP Strategic Occupations Stream - Occupations in Art, Culture, Recreation and Sport.
How is the demand for skill workers in BC for creative and advertising, media industry? Any advice or suggestions will be help a lot.
Hoping to hear from you guys.
Thank you.

I haven't actually seen BC Guy here for a while but from what he used to say about BC PNP, a job offer is enough to be sponsored under PNP. Talk to the PNP about what you need to do and what you need your employer to do.

You prove the demand in BC PNP strategic occupations applications by the employer reporting on their recruiting efforts and why you were chosen for the position over other candidates. It needs to be a thorough explanation accompanied by proof of recruitment, etc. Using government issued reports such as BC Work Futures or those issued by the Conference Board of Canada to support the explanation and your hiring are very helpful in these cases. If it's a well done application and makes good business sense, it should be fine.

Hello Leon, Bc Guy and rjesome
I need your help with the BC PNP ''Information Release Form''. In the signature section they have asked for 'Signature of Witness'. who's signature would that be?(lawyer/employer/friend/family member) or do we have to leave it blank? I will be applying from outside of Canada.
i have tried asking through different thread, but no one has answered. please help me out.
Thanks.

I don't know canman. I don't have this form in front of me and you are not posting any link to it. I would say make a phonecall to BC PNP and have a chat with them about it. I am sure they can tell you better than any of us what is needed for their forms.

It doesn't say on the form what kind of witness so maybe it doesn't matter but when not sure, either call BCPNP and ask or get a commissioner of oaths to witness it. You can't go wrong with a commissioner of oaths but maybe it is not needed to go that far.

Anyone over the age of 18 can witness your signature. That's all it is, someone witnessing you signing the paper and then they sign after you. You might not get your lawyer to do it but his or her assistant would be fine.
