I will be flying home to Malaysia for a holiday and my application to extend and change my visa status is still not back as  yet. Is my visa extension payment receipt good enough to proof to Immigration exit point that I am still with a status here in Canada when I leave. Has anyone gone through this before?

1.  Do you have a valid TRV in your passport?  If not then no.  Once you leave Canada, your visitor status ends.

My study visa has expired and 1 month prior to that I have put in an application to change it to a visitor visa while waiting for my PR to be processed. Will I be able to use the TRV which I hope they will issue to me while  I am away. I have requested my mother-in-law to check all our mails while we are away and to mail the TRV to me when it arrive.

1.  They would send you a visitor record, but it wouldn't be valid as you have left Canada.
2.  A TRV is applied for at an overseas office for citizens of those countries that require a visitor visa to enter Canada.
