Permanent Resident Card

This is to confirm what I think the Immigration website says. 

A) For the new permanent resident, he or she must inform Immigration of her permanent address once in Canada, and her PRC will be mailed within 30 days. No fee.

B) To apply for a replacement PRC (I think the first PRC expires in five years?), there is another bunch of paperwork to complete.

One of the forms required is IMM1000, Record of Landing.  Where does one get that?  Is it issued by Immigration when one arrives at the airport?

Failing IMM1000, an alternative form is IMM5292, but you cannot get that form online, only by ordering an application kit.  Has anyone seen this form? Is it terribly difficult to complete?

C) The minimum  time one must spend in Canada during the first five years is 730 days, to maintain permanent residence status. But the application for a new PRC requires the applicant to spend 1095+ days in Canada during the first 5 years, or have  good reason why.

The least onerous reason is that the applicant spent at least 730 days but less than 1095 in Canada because he/she was with husband/wife during the days abroad.
This seems too easy.  Will Immigration then examine the spouse to see why he/she was abroad so much?

1.  IMM 1000 has not been issued since June 2002, so if you "landed" after that date you have an IMM 5293 in your passport.
2.  You are confusing citizenship (1095 days residency in the 4 years before application) and PR residency obligations, 730 days in every 5 year period.
3.  To maintain residency while abroad, you must be residing with a Canadian citizen spouse.
