Hi all,

I am a Canadian citizen, applying to sponsor my wife, who is a Pakistani passport holder but in the UK on a student visa.

Is there a requirement to include fingerprints for my wife in the application? I do not see this in the 'Guide' but came across some posts on the forum discussing fingerprints...

Thanks,

mo

HI
I didn't get your point , Have you checked this link (http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/security/police-cert/europe/united-kingdom.asp ) ? In most of the cases you can easily find the proper information on CIC website .

You mean to include fingerprints individual, I don't think so, as far as I know about fingerprints, it is a requirement to get police clearance or FBI clearance, and in some country they go with the name alone to get the clearance.

Finger Prints needs to be submitted to the background clearance department in UK (information is there in CIC website)..

Once you obtain the clearance, the document you receive needs to be attached to your CIC application

Thanks for your responses.

I did check the CIC website before posting my question, but just wanted to be 100% certain that fingerprints were not required.

I should have clarified my question: as part of the spousal visa application, we are required to obtain UK police clearance. My question was whether we needed to provide fingerprints as part of the application, as an additional measure on top of a police clearance (I don't think the UK police requires fingerprints to conduct its clearance, based on info from its website).

STLGUY - could you please point me to the link on CIC website where it says fingerprints are needed for UK?

Thanks again...

1.  You don't need fingerprints for a UK police clearance.  http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/security/police-cert/europe/united-kingdom.asp
2.  Don't forget, she will require police certificates from every country where she has lived for 6 months or more since turning 18
