Hey guys,

I have just send my application for "Federal Skilled Worker" to Sydney, Canada and waiting for the reply/confirmation.

I went through this link:  http://www.mumbaipolice.org/downloads/PCC.pdf   to obtain pcc from mumbai. I am currently residing in Massachusetts, USA and I am trying to obtain PCC from Mumbai, India

What does this mean "Letter Instructions of Embassy demanding the Police Certificate"
Does it mean they need some kind of proof that I am applying for PR in canada??

Thanks!!

hi!,
I got my PCC from Mumbai, India last week & it is supposed to be all India PCC do not neet from every state where u lived as this is All India PCC.
I went to the local Passport office (Prabhadevi, Old passport Office) paid 300Rs gave my passport 2 copies of current address proof.
They dont ask you to prove your previous addresses.
Got the PCC next day itself. It is really fast here.

Hi swaps82,

so you mean I don't have to send all the documents as mentioned in www.mumbaipolice.org/downloads/PCC.pdf

I am currently staying in USA. Can my parents goto the passport office and get the PCC on my behalf.

Also, what is the difference from this PCC and the one mentioned in the pdf link above?

Thanks a lot!!

As per my information, if you are in USA & want police record certificate for India.
Yo can submit you application to Indian Embassy NYC, by submitting, application form, passport, $20 fees + $20 for Fedex for return documents.

http://www.indiacgny.org/documents/1078419149_content.pdf

You do not need police certificate from India.

thanks.
