Hi waitin_vain,
Thanks for your answer..I don't think they will ask us a police certificate because either my partner or me stay in another country than Canada longer than 6 months. And we both came here on visa. So they've checked our criminal record before we came here. I hope like you said it won't take so long.
Thanks again!

Hi Labron,

I received a good news from CIC today regarding my application they informed me the decision is made and I should wait for the contact from a local office which is Etobicoke for a landing interview. Hopeful I will be landed soon, Labron I hope you are application will be finalized soon. My processing before the final decision made took 9 months and 12 days so the average processing time of 13 months for second stage is not true because my second stage took 3 months and a week since AIP.

Hello Labron,

Thanks for the congratulations, finger crossed am hoping you hear the good news soon too. When you call them tomorrow try to ask them if they have completed background and security checks. My file was sent for review by the I/O last week wednesday and called them today confirming I got a decision made and they send me a letter and I should wait for the landing interview date from Etobicoke office. I will keep you informed when I receive the letter from vegreville and Etobicoke.

Hi waitin_vain,
I called CIC, but apparently my application is still in process: background check.
I was wondering whether your ECAS has changed yet to be DECISION MADE?

Hi Labron,

My ecas changed to decision made since June this year though when I click on decision made,I do not see the decision has been made line and the letter has been sent to you blah blah... This was before call centre confirmed that my application is approved on July 12,2011 and is still the same up to now. I am just waiting for the later in the mail probably I will receive it by end of next week. I think my ecas will be updated this weekend I will give you feedback though.

Ok!.so what i understand is that they update your ecas (to be changed to decision made) a month before they send you the letter, right?

Good luck in the rest!

Iam still hoping for good news soon...

Just for your info.... I think that when CIC receives your medicals then the 2nd stage (final decision) of PR processing starts.

Currently processing times for protected persons are currently 10 months for PR. (The time is taken from when they receive your medicals i.e. count 10 months!)

If they have requested your fingerprints within this time then this is the last bit. Logically they want to assess whether you have been arrested and charged for any criminal offense or been involved with the same.
This really should be done at the end of the processing for if it is done earlier and later you are involved in anything criminal then they will not see this because your fingerprints were taken before the event. (theoretically speaking)

Fingerprints taken digitally take 72 hours to reach RCMP who forward onto to CIC......which should not be too long. Hope this helps.
