Find a job in Vancouver!

Hi!

I'm French and my boyfriend is Irish. We live in London and we'd like to move to Vancouver. We thought that we could send an application together for a FSW. I'm trying to get as much information as I can.
As we want to go to Vancouver, I had a look at the BC PNP and I realised that we need a job offer to do it.
My boyfriend works in animation and might have a contact with a company in Vancouver but nothing is done. And I'm a secretary at the French Embassy. And I have no chance to get a job at the French Consulate in Vancouver as they hire only vancouver based people.
We're going on holiday to Vancouver for a week in september and I'm not sure it will be enough to a job.

Is it long to find a job when you don't live there?
Does anybody works in animation?
Any advice please...

so did u guys end up finding work?

Rainmaker is probably the biggest animation company in Vancouver. Altho it is CG animation. Lot of tech companies in BC.
