Financial Evaluation Form Question

Hi All,

I'm having trouble/not clear issue with filling out the financial evaluation form, which one do I need to fill out, IMM 5481 or IMM 1283?

I'm a Canadian Citizen, trying to sponsor my wife from abroad, which is where I'm at currently and we have a child together who won't need to be sponsored as she will her citizenship though me, the part of the forum I comfused about is the following:

On the form The Financial Evaluation form (IMM 1283) it says:

The Financial Evaluation form (IMM 1283) will help you assess
if you (and your spouse or common-law partner, if he or she is
co-signing the undertaking) will have the financial ability to
support the persons you are planning to sponsor and their
family members.

<- Also I won't be needing a co-signer (It says that If you are sponsoring your spouse I can't have a co-signer, so no), So I guess I can't/need to fill out and send in this form, am I right?

If you are sponsoring a person other than
• your spouse, common-law or conjugal partner who has no
family members, or

• your spouse, common-law or conjugal partner who has
dependent children who have no dependent children of
their own, or

• your child who has no children of his or her own,

<- I'm Sponsoring just my wife/spouse


On the form: SPONSORSHIP EVALUATION FORM (IMM 5481) it says:

If you are sponsoring your spouse or dependent children <- I'm sponsoring my spouse only in this case

It also states on the form:
If you are sponsoring your spouse who has dependent children who have dependent children of their own
<- Again, I'm just sponsoring my wife/spouse and we have a child together who will not need to be sponsored and according my previous post, I'm told that the only form that i need to mention my child is on the ADDITIONAL FAMILY INFORMATION FORM (IMM 5490)??


It's a bit confusing, which form do I need to fill out in my situation???

if you are ONLY sponsoring your spouse with no dependent children all you ahve to complete is the SPONSORSHIP EVALUATION.

But I do have dependent child, who does not need to be sponsored as our child has already been confirmed that she will get her citizenship since one of her parents is a Canadian citizen, so would that still mean I would have to do the Sponsorship Evaluation?!

yes.. u still have only to complete sponsorship evaluation.. and your daughther name will be included in your additional family info.
