Dear all,
Fist of all thank you to all of you who have helped and guided me and wife throughout our application paper work. It's so daunting when looking at all the stuff they ask in the applications. Anyway, finally after rechecking things and gathering as much info, pics, documents as we could, we Fedex our package to CIC in Mississauga. It was almost 10lbs. I know that the processing times can take a while. We have asked that her application be processed in Kuala Lumpur. When we checked the average times, we now see that it went from 13 months to now 11 months.
Anyway, we are ready to for the wait, but just wanted to check with you all. When will I be notified that I qualify as a Sponsor? Also, how can I check the status of my application? I haven't received contact from them yet. It's only been 2 days, but just wondering when should I expect to hear anything from CIC. Thanks so much guys!

Approximately 66 days after they receive it: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/perm-fc.asp. Anyway, we are ready to for the wait, but just wanted to check with you all. When will I be notified that I qualify as a Sponsor?
You can't until CPCM sends you the sponsorship approval. They will not confirm receipt of the application, so if you have a tracking number or signature, depend on that as your confirmation. Sign up for e-cas tracker now so that it will notify you when it can log you in with your information. And remember that e-cas is notoriously unreliable and that GCMS notes (ordered at least a month or two after the PR portion arrives as the VO, of course) are a better option for checking the progress of your application at the VO. Also, how can I check the status of my application? I haven't received contact from them yet. It's only been 2 days, but just wondering when should I expect to hear anything from CIC. Thanks so much guys!

I received my pr approval email today and my eCAS still says application and medical received only. So I second ddobro2 that eCAS is super duper unreliable!! by the way, goodluck on going through kuala lumpur, they are super nice and reasonable dont believe the 11 months either, i got mine in 3!!! just make sure everything was submitted accordingly. for now just wait out the 65 days till you get the sponsor approval letter and enjoy the year end break

Thank you for the help and answers! I'll wait the 66 days. Shouldn't be a problem since it's almost the holidays anyway.
I'm very impressed that you got yours in 3 months! Congrats! What did you send them that helped make things so fast!? Glad to hear that you think Kuala Lumpur office is good to deal with. I'm always so worried whenever it comes to dealing with official things in KL. I don't mind if it takes a while, but just hope that it doesn't take longer than the posted time. =)

Congratulate yourself for finishing the application and getting it in, and take a nice, well-deserved break. Like others have said, you'll have nothing to do until they get back to you, which is in 66 days. For now, just relax, send a love letter to your spouse, and try to make the most out of the waiting game.

Thanks for the support guys! Actually I'm currently living with my wife here in Singapore. When we shipped finally shipped it, we gave a HUGE sigh of relief. Now it's time for us to celebrate. None of our friends believed us when we told them how much work it is for this application. We kept on hearing about how much easier it was in other countries... LOL
Oh well, "good things come to those who wait" right? =)

Indeed! It's lucky for both of you that you can be together during this time. I'm jealous :O Come and post in the Singapore thread ( http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/singapore-timeline-t28993.0.html) and keep us up to date on your application. And yeah, it's so hard to explain to others what you have to go through this process... it's something that can only be experienced. And yes, if we look to the end of things, we will not be disappointed. Where there is love, there is always time.

Thanks!! I was surprised myself and wasn't expecting it till sometime mid next year, I supposed my TRV application helped as they mentioned their priority was to process longer term plans between the two. And also the VO said everything was included in my apps, i.e. medical came clean, police certs also cleared and payment upfront, ample evidences too on genuine and continuing relationship. My previous TRV in 09 was also approved with an interview and I did came back to msia when I said I would. So since they had my passport from my trv apps, they figured might as well issue my pr visa. I was speechless, still am and my husband still can't believe it I agree on the dealing with official things in KL but then again CIC is not technically a malaysian government outfit

Greetings all and Happy New Years! Wishing you all the very best! I've been monitoring the status on the website http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/perm-fc.aspand it appears as though they are indicating that they are working on packages received on Nov 22nd. Mine was supposed to have been received by them on Nov 1st. Does this mean that mine should already have been approved or denied? How do they let me know? Is it via email? If so, I haven't gotten anything from CIC. What do you recommend that I do? Thanks again!

Apparently, CPC-M has begun confirming receipt of applications, so in fact you may hear from them before sponsorship approval after all (if one applied after they began doing this). Approximately 66 days after they receive it: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/perm-fc.asp. You can't until CPCM sends you the sponsorship approval. They will not confirm receipt of the application, so if you have a tracking number or signature, depend on that as your confirmation. Correct, that means that those applications that they received November 22 or earlier should have been processed. They inform the sponsor and not the applicant so make sure the sponsor in your case has checked his or her email (including spam folder) and postal mail. Greetings all and Happy New Years! Thanks for the quick reply and info. I'm the sponsor actually and I've been checking mail for the last month. I've noticed many applicants from November 2011 getting their emails about them being approved so I'm starting to get anxious. This waiting game is tough!

See if you can log in to e-CAS and if so, what information you find there. Sometimes these approval letters fall through the cracks, I suppose. If that doesn't reassure/explain it to you, you might consider calling the Call Centre. Thanks for the quick reply and info. I'm the sponsor actually and I've been checking mail for the last month. thanks again.
But for eCAS access what would I need? I haven't received anything yet since we send our sponsorship package. We just have the FedEX confirmation.
Which call center should I call?
