Hey All,

first and foremost, a Big thanks to you all..its been such a tremendous, outstanding help. if it wasnt for this website..i would have completely lost it by now..so again a BIG THANK YOU..

Finally, after a wait for 9 long months, I see  "Decision Made" for my Husband's sponsership application at the New delhi office.

Our timeline is a bit off, due to # of reasons. But there are some things that I learnt along the way and i would like to point out.

firstly, Its very very very important to notify the Visa office you are dealing with, of any changes to the your Schedule 1 ( declaration form) if any. we gave them numerous proofs of the changes but at last when they were ready to make a decision, they sent a letter asking my husband to fill out the Schedule 1 form with the new information. and it caused an unexpected Delay

2. if your medical  is about to expire ( i would say in less than  a month) and you assume that your application is towards the completion. Then they would give you very less time to wrap up and land before your medicals expire, because although if you get your visa before the expiration of medicals you cant land on expired medicals  - I was so glad that the Visa office called my husband to ask if he could land before DEc 17 ( Medical expiration date) or else according to them I would again have to apply for my husband..all the way from the beginning.

3. You have to learn to be Patient and keep Faith..its very important :-)

so now we are just waiting for him to get his Passport...and then he will be here with me :-)

good luck to you all... :-)

please try to think positive. everything will be just fine. if they set a date for interview, just accept it the way it is - that's nothing you can do about it, just try not to think about it and make yourself well prepared for the interview.
good luck!

Just to clarify this.

When the visa is issued, it is valid until either:
a) the medical results expire (that is one year after the medical exam was taken) or
b) the passport expires
Whichever of the above comes first.

Had your husband said he was unable to travel before Dec 17th, then the visa office would ask him to redo the medical exam. After he did that, they would issue a visa that would be valid until the second medical expired.

Sometimes they don't bother asking though. They either just issue the visa with a short expiration date or straight out ask to redo the medicals.

Had the visa been issued with the expiration date of Dec 17th and your husband had not landed by that date, then the visa would expire and yes, you would have to do the whole thing all over again.

Anyway, congratulations on the approval, hope he's with you soon! Smiley
