Hi

Just noticed that CIC has modified the check list form - to be submitted with new application (CIO + VO).

Lot of confusion among the members were going on related to point # 12 about VO related documents. The new check list (July 2010) the point# 12 is more clear vs. the one released on 26 June 2010

Hope it would be of help to members here.

Have just checked out #12...what a surprise!!  Another step in the right direction!  I would never have guessed that all they wanted in this item was a COPY of the DOCUMENT CHECKLISTS....the word COPY did NOT refer to the format for the documents requested in the VO Specific checklist at all!  Glad someone was listening!  Thanks for pointing this out to us all.

Dear canada future,

Check Document checklist IMM 5612, and point no 12 with regards to using Visa Specific Checklist.

Compare it with point no 12 in the older IMM 5612

I'm kinda confused. It's almost the same as the older one. It only changed in structure.

So is it now copy or VO checklist takes precedence?

Hi

By changing the word structure it is clear that we need to se nd all documents in one go.

Also please find below the reply from Delhi VO office

This is in response to your recent email enquiry to the Immigration Section of the Canadian High Commission in New Delhi.

You are only required to send your application forms and all required documents to the Centralized Intake Office in Sydney, Nova Scotia. If you are found eligible, your documents will be forwarded to the visa office in New Delhi (if that is the visa office you selected in your application forms).

We trust that this information will be of assistance.

Blueray...don't tell me you STILL haven't licked that envelope shut!!  HA!  It was the word COPY in the format for #12 that confused us when determining what to send in the package to CIO.  From the new wording of #12 they want a COPY of both CHECKLISTS - CIO and VO.  The documents to include, and the format for those documents, whether they be originals (some in sealed envelopes), notarized copies or photocopies, is indicated in those two checklists.

Hahaha. Hi Pippin. actually, I was about to. I'm just glad I haven't sent it out it. The address has changed! Smiley

So, if the VO checklist says Original employment certificate, that means that I have to send the original employment certificate to CIO, correct?

or is it something like, for #12, we produce a new set of copies for all? i'm so confused right now...  Sad

Look at the document structure. One is a global instruction applied to the complete set you would send to the Visa Office- "Copy". So you send a copy of all documents as per checklist. Next you have the VO checklist, which says, Original-IELTS, Transcript etc. So that means you follow the next logical iteration in the flow.....
So YES you have to send originals of the documents that are requested in the VO Checklist

Thanks yukon for your reply.

Can you check if i understood it right? This is how it is going to be sent:

1. CIO checklist and all forms required (originals, except photocopy of passport)
then..
2. photocopy of CIO checklist and all the forms
3. the VO checklist and necessary documents (without PCC)

So its like having two copies of the CIO checklist and its forms all together. is this correct? please advice..

Yes, & true do not send PCC now. They changed the rules on 4 Aug 2010.

Great! thanks yukon.

Just wondering why they would need the original, and at the same time, copies of the forms. Is it because if deemed accepted, CIO will retain the original forms, and send the copies, together with the VO documents to the appropriate VO?

In the new process (post 26 June) you don't have to send copies of the Forms !
Just one original is required. Since the VO checklist caters to both post 6/26 & pre 6/26 applicants, the VO checklist mentions the forms again, since earlier the forms with complete documents were to be sent to VO for final assessment.

If you are applying now, pls. don't send photocopies of the forms.
