In my application, I wrote "Present". It was accepted

Also some members of this forum claimed that their application got returned because they wrote "present"

My advice is to write the current month and year.

windtunnel, would you mind telling which visa-office you submitted your documents to? Maybe we can get an idea which visa office does allow this practice? I also placed "PRESENT" in my current work experience and it's only now that I learned about those getting rejected, as you said, because they they did the same. It's kinda worrying. By the way, my visa-office is London CIC.

Thanks.

It can be left blank as well (if that is your current job). That clearly tells CIC that since you are currently working in that company, you can't assign a "leaving" date.

The best way to verify any information on Canadian Immigration is to visit the official website of CIC - http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/index.asp

Please don't let it blank. Windtunnel is right. OP should write application date ( MM/YYYY) for present job.

Would it be a right move to write a correction/explanation letter, and an updated copy of the IMM 0008 form, as soon as possible to the corresponding visa-office to correct this entry in order to avoid possible rejection?
