Hi Hasni,

u have to start with ur current job,its NOC & job descriptions.I think u r referring to Qn 11 in Economic Classes-Schedule 3 form.
Refer the guide: Qn 11 Your work experience  under Schedule 3: Economic Classes – Federal Skilled Worker Class (IMM 0008-Schedule 3)
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/EG74.asp

quote from cic site:
11 Your work experience
Starting with your current occupation, list all of the occupations that you have had in the 10 years preceding the date of your application. For each occupation;
•include the appropriate National Occupation Classification (NOC) code,
•check the box that corresponds to the number of years of continuous full-time or equivalent part-time experience, and
•write a description of your main duties.

Note: List only occupations that fall in Skill Type 0 or Skill Levels A or B of the NOC.

For Qn 12,u can start with NOC & Occupation that is under current 29 list of MI.The order can be different from Qn 11.

Refer guide: Qn 12 Order of preference under Schedule 3: Economic Classes – Federal Skilled Worker Class (IMM 0008-Schedule 3)
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/EG74.asp

12 Order of preference
From the occupations you listed in question 11 above, list which occupational experience you would like to be assessed in order of preference. Begin with your first choice and continue with your second, etc. Include both the NOC code and the occupation's title.
Note: The order of preference will be used for the assessment of eligibility under the ministerial instructions. The order can be different from the order in which occupations are listed in question 11
.

hope this helps

pearl2010,

thanks a lot for explaing all this. just what i want to know is when they talk about NOC, does it mean that they are only talking about the 29 NOC because generally speaking there are hundreds of NOCs.Now i am working as Mechanical engineer(NOC 2132 which is not in the 29 NOC list offcourse).Do i have to put it as they say we should start with most recent back to 10 years. And when i put Mechanical Engineer, should i be putting 2132 Huh?hope you got my point Smiley

 @ Moloyo,
that is quite clear, again can the NOCs other that mandatory 29 NOC may be written against your experience.
Next, they ask to put the preference for the NOCs, and tell which one you want them to be assessed aginst your experience first. Now here, how can we put the NOC's which are not among those 29NOCs.little confused, please see if i could convey me concern and clarify !!!

Next to each work experience, you should put the NOC Number, which correspond to it. Usually you do that in your CV as well.

Is it necessary to enclose CV with the application package?HuhHuhHuh??

you have to put the correct noc for the each and every job you performed whether it is listed under 29 occupation list or not
For processing under FSW mention the noc's which are under 29 occupation list in order of preference.
hope it helps

dear hariranjith,
you have almost solved my confusion, so what i have understood is that in Q 11, i will have to put my experience from present job back upto 10 years with whatever NOCs they may have withing 29 NOCs or not (offcourse there have to be minimum one NOC with min one year job experience in past 10 years from withing 29 NOCs in order to be eligible to apply),
BUT in Q 12 of imm008_3e, i will only puy NOCs which i want them to assess me under and should be among 29 NOC list.
please verify whether what i have understood is correct, thanks

Hi hasni,
it is not just 29 NOC's,u have to include all the NOC's corresponding to ur past 10 yrs work experience. yes,ur current NOC 2132(Mechanical Eng.) is not in 29 Occupations list, but u have to start with this 2132 to back 10 years.

here, in Qn11, yes,u have to write ur experience from present job back upto 10 years irrespective of 29 NOC occupations.
in Qn12, start with NOC from current 29 Occupation list(priority-to be assessed against 29 NOC's)  and then, the other occupations and its NOC from 10 yrs experience(this should have all the NOC's mentioned in Qn11)
hope its clear now

dear pearl2010,

i really appreciate your effort and time, now i am absolutely clear about Q11 BUT for Q12 when you say "this should have all the NOC's mentioned in Qn11", its lot confusing. Example i put here NOC 7216 at first priority but as per what you said i should put 2132 at number 2. But since my second priority is not in the 29 NOC list so what's the point in putting it here BECAUSE they ask to put here the NOC's in order, that you want to be assessed against your experience.Any NOC that is not in 29 NOC list would never be subjected to any kind of assessment, so why put that NOC here i mean in Q12.???please see if you got my point!!

Hi Hasni,

Actually in Qn12,the caption itself says Order of preference and not just preferred work experience.if they wanted us to mention only the NOC's from 29 Occupations list, they would have explicitly stated that.
This Qn12 is newly added to this form coz when I filled the same form last May2010,it was not there. I feel the reason for adding this Qn12,is to make the assessment work easier for the VO ,coz in Qn11 we would be writing the NOC's from current to last 10 yrs and the VO has to keep searching which NOC comes under the 29 Occpations list. Hence in Qn12 they want us to start from the priority NOC Occupation(from 29 Occupations list) and then the remaining NOC's mentioned in Qn11 and there is no harm in mentioning other NOC's from Qn11 which is not under current MI,coz in Qn12 they are going to consider only ur 1st preferred NOC for assessment(make sure this is in 29 list).

hope its clear now Smiley
