Where are most Filipinos (kababayans) centered in? They say it's Toronto. Would it be good for me to immigrate there? I want to be closer to fellow Filipinos.

Thanks.

Why?......surely if you wanted to be near to Filipinos you would stay in your own Country???

Seriously, I am totally puzzled why someone wants to immigrate to another Country and yet not....if you understand. Can you please explain to me why you feel the need to immigrate and yet not integrate yourself into your new Country's culture and people.

For that matter...could anyone else explain it to me.....I really do not understand this.

Well, sorry I didn't quite expound on what I meant. hehe. I guess I want to be near towns or cities in Canada where there are big concentrations of Filipinos so I could probably 'get help' just in case. I've lived in the U.S., Middle East and Japan in my lifetime and I just thought being near Filipino communities would help. Smiley

I understand you are looking for a support network....I get that now....I thought you were looking for a mini home country....LOL

But I think you will find that the people in Canada support each other period. You do not need to be near any particular nationality to receive help and support.

With such a diverse population, there is always someone to help you out....look at this forum...so many nationalities and so much help around.

Good Luck.

Thanks for the insight. Yes I think it's a reported common trait of Filipinos abroad but not all I think. Filipinos in Europe, so I've heard, are more united than Filipinos in the  Mideast, Asia or in North America. I guess our diverse culture is partly to blame .Sad Notice that that there are Chinatowns, Koreantowns, Indiatowns, Japantowns, etc. but never a Filipinotown? hehe

I guess I'd rather blend in then partly with them. But still, I'm a proud Filipino.

Thanks for the insight. Yes, more of a 'support group'.  Smiley
