hi civichonda,

I am also a filipino PT working as a PTA in Ottawa. I applied in 2008 and got the visa early 2010. Hang in there, dadating din yan. At the meantime, I suggest you start with your credentialing with the Alliance because that too takes time, if you haven't done that already Smiley

hi trinatocanada,

thank you for your reply.

wow seems i really have to wait for a longer time.that means, the 11 months maximum processing posted in the manila embassy website wasn't true? hay..

anyway trina, i applied as a PTA initially to an Alberta skilled nursing facility. They are interested on my CV but they ask me if i am already a licensed PTA in Alberta. As according to him every PTA working there must be licensed. From the internet, I understand that PTA is not yet regulated, that means no licensure is required yet.

Please sure your experience on how you got the PTA job.

Goodbless and mabuhay..

I went through the London visa office, so my timeline may be different from yours. PTAs do not need registration at least in Ontario, I have no idea for Alberta.  I emailed my resumes to several PT clinics in the Toronto and Ottawa area and was lucky enough to have scheduled a few interviews when I landed in Canada last July 2010.

It is true that they prefer PTAs who graduated from a PTA program in Canada.  All you need is to be called in for an interview to have a chance to show them that you can do the job.

thanks for reply and sharing your experience..

I came from london also but i submitted my docs at the manila VO as per the advice of my immigration consultant..sabi nya kasi mas madali ang CHC manila, but unfortunately seems pinauuna pa mga post 6/26 applicants..

i also check your timeline in london and it tooks 14 mons processing during your period. as to your timeline, you got the visa after approximately 21 mos..

god bless

Hello,

My husband is the Principal applicant for our application. He's a dentist. But I am a Filipino PT graduate. I'm not licensed.
