That's good! I wish you the best, Mimi.

Hi Guyz,

A little update regarding my appeal for additional subject exemptions sa CGA.  Dumating na yung reply nila and CGA Ontario granted me additional 8 subjects!  Yippeee!!!  Grin Cheesy Tongue Grin  Malaking tipid sa pera, pagod at brain cells!  CGA Ontario granted me only 7 subjects during their initial evaluation, pero after the appeal, 15 na yung exempted sa akin.  I only need to take tax, BC2, 2 electives and the 2 capstone subjects.

Grin Grin Grin Most probably it is the result of the CGA program for Philippine CPAs.    Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy.

I would like to thank everyone (you know who your are) who unceasingly gave and continue to give information in this thread.

Praise and Glory be to God!!!

Ingat po tayo palagi, good luck sa atin and God bless!

isarog--that's great! buti ka pa at smooth sailing ang appeal mo. until now madugo pa din ang appeal process ko. did they ask for your board ratings? hiningian ako eh, yng galing daw sa PICPA. i told them PICPA does not give that kind of doc because they don't administer the exam.  its PRC. meron ako galing sa PRC in DFA red ribbon pa nga but 2008 ko pa ito na secure.  I don't know if this would work. CA student na ako pero appeal pa din ako sa CGA. kasi mahal bayad ko sa kanila kaya bigyan ko sila ng trabaho  Tongue Tongue Tongue Tongue Tongue they are so unorganized. kung ano-ano ang hinihingi, may humingi ng transcript from PICPA or IIA, ang sabi ko naman i didn't study in these organizations because first, they are not schools, they are just an organization of professionals, which provide continuing education seminars/workshops to their members. second, wala naman sa checklist of requiremnts nila mga ito eh, andun ba  Grin Grin Grin

Hi Mimi,

Nakapag-inquire na ako about the CA designation. Na turn-off lang ako kasi kailangan pala ng 3-year experience with an accredited CA Training Office (CATO) before you can take the UFE. I asked them kung pwede sa iba, ang sabi nila kailangan daw sa accredited CATO, at kung hindi ka ma-hire sa CATO, try again the following year. Eh di ugod-ugod na ako bago makapag-exam..  Smiley

Anyway, I'll just proceed with the CGA designation. At least sa CGA they would consider my work experience. I am qualified daw for fast-track so baka 2 courses na lang kailangan ko. Smiley

hi Isarog!

Congratulations!
Please advise...
Thanks and Good Luck!

Hi Mimi and Charlie5,

Ito po yung before and after na appeal ko:

CGA
Course Code   Course Title            Before Appeal   After
1   FA1   Financial Accounting Fundamentals   Ex                     Ex
2   EM1   Micro and Macro Economics                   Ex                     Ex
3   LW1   Business Law                                                        Ex
   Level 2
4   FA2   Financial Accounting: Assets                   Ex                       Ex
5   QU1   Business Quantitative Analysis           Ex                     Ex
6   MA1   Management Accounting Fundamentals   Ex                     Ex
7   CM1   Business Communication                                        Ex
   Level 3
8   FA3   Financial Accounting:  Liabilities and      Ex                     Ex
9   FN1   Corporate Finance Fundametals                                Ex
10   MS1   Managing Information Systems           Ex                     Ex
   BC1   Accounting Business Case                                        Ex
   Advanced Studies
11   FA4   Financial Accounting:  Consolidation and Advanced Issues     Ex
12   MA2   Advanced Management Accounting                                Ex
13   TX1   Personal and Corporate Taxation
14   AT1   Accounting Theory and Contemporary Issues                Ex
15   AU1   External Auditing                                                        Ex
   BC2   Public Practice Audit Case
   Electives
16   MS2   Information Systems Strategy
17   MU1   Internal Auditing and Controls
18   PA1   Issues in Professional Practice
19   PA2   Strategic Financial Management
   Total                                           7 subjects   15 subjects

Sinubmit ko yung board rating from PRC and course description sa school ko.  I really think that the additional exemptions I received is due to the recent news on Phil CPAs dahil halos the same na lang ang kukunin ko.   4 lang po inapply ko pero 8 yung inapprove nila.   Huh Huh Huh Grin

Ngprint lng ung sis ko and yon pinakita sa PICPA, ngbayad lng cya and nakuha nya ung Certificate of Good Standing.

so far karamihan ng mga nakausap ko, 6 subjects na lang ang kailangan. on hold pa yung CGA assessment ko, inaantay ko pa kasi yung IQAS assessment saka yung certificate of good standing ko from PICPA Calgary. magastos talaga pag CA saka mas matagal makakuha ng designation dahil sa 3-year professional exprience in a CA Training Office before you can take the UFE. so kung gusto mo makakuha ng designation ng mas mabilis mag CGA ka na muna.

Hello fellow CPA's. Medyo off topic lang ako, pero i would really appreciate kung meron mang makakapagbigay ng opinion regarding my issue. Nag apply ako under federal skilled worker category last April 2010 through the Central Intake Office (CIO), after about two months binalik ang complete set ng documents ko dahil kulang daw to which i immediately complied and returned the same set of application docs in June 2010. It was almost at the same time that they changed their immigration policies limiting the federal skilled in demand professions. Sa bago nilang immigration policy, there are 29 professions at nawala na yung Accounting profession. After a month, i receive a letter from CIO informing me that based on their initial evaluation, hindi na daw ako qualified to apply under federal skilled worker dahil yung profession ko is no longer in the list of in demand profession sa Canada based on their new policy. Since Y2006 pa ako nagbabalak pero madalas kung ipagpabukas, then when i finally decided nabago naman ang policy nila. I am not sure if my question will still make sense, pero wala na ba talagang pag-asa na magkapag-apply pa ang mga katulad nating accountant dyan sa Canada?

buti po sa manitoba mura lang paasess.. 84 dolars lang po nabigay ko.. ewan ko lang po kung my iba pang assessment... yung 6 subjects po ba regardless of experience.. fresh grad lang po ksi ako satin at ang experience ko lang po ay (10 mos office setting/taxation) as part time.. pero parang full time din kasi onting subject nalang tinitake up ko that time.. sana ok ang response nila. at parang nabasa ko cga , cma, ca ongoing merge talks
