nung papunta inabot ako ng 21 hours..nung pabalik....17 hrs..... lapit na rin yan.....atleast nagpprepare na kau for landing ganyan din gngwa ko nung waiting ako last year..... Thanks. Ganun din na-canvass asawa, BA ang cheapest so far. Ok naman yung flight at crew - how many hours inabot? Waiting for MR pa lang flight na ang tinatanong, sobrang advance...he.,he.
Goodluck sayo, sana nga mag-materialize yung internal transfer pra d k na mahirapan hanap work dun.
Yup, in terms of tax mas ok Alberta.Pati health care at the onset kc la waiting time unlike other provinces, covered ka agad.

@ pachochay: waiting for MR din ako eh. my 50th day since 2nd AOR today. @ cpa2canada: good to have ur participation in this thread. sna mag post ulit ka pagbalik mo sa canada late this year. i got my assessment from CMA ontario just today. it said i am eligible for the accelerated program. pero parang gsto ko na CGA  anybody here whose credentials have been evaluated by CGA Ontario? |

Opinion ko lang po eto: Remember na d nila "recognize" education at certification sa atin. Me nabasa ako dating blogs ng mga senior na nag-MBA sa atin sa LA Salle, pagdating dun d rin recognize. Bale, they are always looking for CAnadian education & experience, sad to say. Unless of course US or European din yung education mo...
So kung gusto mo magign "specialist" kuha ka either of the 3 designation - CA, CGA or CMA. Then later if MBA if gusto mo pa higher position (& pay). Or pde rin derecho na MBA if ang target mo all around manager instead of specializing sa Finance/Acctg field.
Let's wait for the others especially the seniors to comment.

So bottom line kung priority mo family over career, go for CGA. Kung bata ka pa at career driven, go for CA. It's good to have varied opinion although syempre at the end of the day we still decide what will work best for us & our family:-)
Thanks for the very good info. In that case, I might settle for CGA. I have a pre-schooler and ever since, it has always been family-over-career for me. I'll be in BC. Good luck and God bless us all. |

Philippine CPA po ako at may experience ako sa audit sa london (5 yrs/big four firm) - I am due to go to Canada (Toronto) this October 2010.
I am hoping I could get inputs/advice/feedback from immigrants na kagaya ko ang background.

Hi Guys, Glad I came across this forum, matagal na ko nag hahanap ng gnito, I'll be bound to Calgary this Nov. na, got my visa since March but I'm maximizing my time here to spend the most w/ my family until malapit na ung expiry ng visa ko hehehe. Anyways, I'm a CPA too, I read Mimi's post na Notre dame xa, so i guess we are neighbors kc from Cotabato ako. Most of my experience is in internal audit. Ask ko lang, impt. ba na may certification or membership from PICPA? thou member tau lahat, but I never paid any dues since I passed the board last 2002, so do I need to reactivate my membership? or enough na ung may PRC ID or proof that we are CPA's here. Also, I read na marami naka pag assess here sa education qualification nila sa Ontario....meron rin bang gnito for Calgary Alberta? thanks so much! sa mga bound for Calgary dito, hope mag kita2x tau |

Hi Datu, now i know kng san galing nick mo hehehe, ahhh ic, nice to know may kababayan ako dito, where ka sa Canada? ic ic, so ikaw ba in good standing? (without offense;)), may mga amnesty program naman yan sila diba? so kumuha ka ba ng cert? meaning even if nasa Canada ka na, dapat in good standing ka parin? |

Hi mimi, thanks for the reply, san ka based ngayon? whole family ba kau for canada? skilled migrant ka rin? about the picpa, gnon pala ka impt. un, I'm looking at their website may contacts dun for Cotabato City but wala naman number kainis hehe, do u know of any picpa office near our place? so good standing ka narin since passing the board?
