dats, fast-forward planning tlga yang sa u  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy buti ka pa. ako start muna cguro sa technical skuls like learning quickbooks as mentioned by mjavelon. wla akong background jan. gusto ko din sana mg CA kaya lng parang at this point mas madali ang CGA path for me.

pachochay, bridging program yng nasabi mo may 5K assistance, malaking bagay na sana yan pero until may 2011 na lng ang program. sana andun na tau by that time para maka avail.

hello there mjavelon!  Merry white XMAS!!!

sige lng, go on, have faith.  dami ang nagstart from scratch but look where they are now.  buti pa pala jan, cheaper ang assessment ng CGA. sa Ontario, its 401.55 CAD  Cry Cry Cry i'll be submitting my dox within this week for their evaluation.

kumusta ka jan? not feeling homesick? are u with relatives o solo flight ka?

best regards!

solo flight ko sis Sad so you're going for CGA rin? super homesick na ko, kung may ticket lang dito sa harapan ko baka bukas makalawa andyan nako Cheesy one more thing, if you plan to drive here, be sure to get a CERTIFICATE sa LTO, I heard sa QC ra kuno na makuha, aron diretso na mo maka drive without a driver with u, kay 1 year pud na iyang interval pag dili

Hi mimi,

yup gusto ko mag CA at gusto ko bumalik sa firm for IA services (too ambitious though..hehehe..mngarap man lang lubusin na  Cheesy).. pag ok na visa hopefully nxt year, ang first thing na gagawin ko is mag enrol sa Law sa Athabasca University. Naka usap ko na rin (thru email) ung professor nila for the course sabi at kinonfirm nya na eto ung Law course for accountants na accredit ng ICAO. Then kinonfirm din eto uli ng ICAO. Ang course is online lang so it will take maximum 6 months to complete ang course. Then mag enroll for CKE Prep Program and Plan to take the CKE exam by May 2012, pag palarin diretso for SOA by June. Ang determining factor lang talaga is dapat mareceive ko ang visa nxt year at maka land ako dun by August or Sept. Of course another factor na dpat di kaligtaan is ung makahanap din agad ng work para atleast maka survive. Kaya ngayon medyo todo tipid para may pang enrol ako pagdating sa canada.

mjavelon,
Don't be sad, lahat ng paghihirap mo will pay off soon...Read my signature...hehehe...

thanks Datu, a caveat to those in toronto, im not sure if this is accurate, but usapan na marami daw from there and montreal lumilipat sa alberta to find jobs, cant confirm this pa kc ako mismo nag hahanap parin  Tongue

Hi javelon! Congrats, nanjan ka na pala....me snow na ba jan ngayon, so first white Christmas mo:-)

I'm sure after a while ang next mong balita sa amin ay.....ME TRABAHO NA AKO!!! God Bless.

Hi Pachochay, thanks for the word of encouragement, sino2x pa ba mag tutulungan kung hindi tau2x mga pinoy accountants hehehe, nyways, bout qb, yups, almost all job requirements related sa accounting nakita ko either qb or simple accounting ang hinahanap. I'm sure recognized naman nila yan cert mo basta formally trained ka lang, and lagay mo sa summary of qualifications mo, ibang iba ang resume nila dito, tailor made for every job requirement, kaya nakaka tamad mag papalit palit, unlike satin jack of all trade pwede for all ang 1 resume, and iba rin ang resume for survival jobs, wala nang pa keme2x, diretso mo lang ilagay na hs grad ka, kc wla sila paki sa mga accounting2x natin, atleast that's what the coach says hehe, the IQAS is for college assessment I think, CGA alberta ka ba pach? ilang subjs. nalng kukunin mo?

Bawat province kasi me kanya-kanyang rules at nagkakaiba rin pati fees.

I suggest you try do some readings din tungkol sa 3 designations na ito ang read some of the threads to give you an idea kung ano nababagay sayo. Goodluck!

For CGA Alberta, ang hiningi sakin is TOR, PICPA certification, PRC grade and PRC certification, so better prepared those, and sa mga mag dridrive, please PLEASE get a certification from LTO, dami ako nakilala na di kumuha nag kakandarapa kumuha ngaun, isa nako hehehe, fyi ang international drivers license is only valid for 3 mos. nalng

I wonder if meron tayo reciprocity program like medicine, na exam lang sila, then theyl be qualified as doctors na, no need to go back to school, I heard ang CA meron daw gnon, CARE ata tawag nila

Hi to all,

just want to join again in the thread. But we only stayed there for 4 days.  nagland kami because mag-expire na visa namin ng sept & bumalik din kami dito sa pinas bec of work commitments.  we're planning to go back there in March 2011. I'm planning to take first any job related to accounting to get canadian experience then pursue ko na lang CGA.

Dun namin intended magsettle. Pero la pa ko idea about the job market for accountants in toronto.

Good luck to all Filipino CPAs. =)
