Filipino CPAs to Canada, What are your plans?

Good day po.  pasali din po dito. it's really informative. CPA din po ako sa jan sa pinas and nag work ako sa audit firm and now as financial controller dito sa ME. Sana po magshare ung mga landed na. I want to know if there are a lot of opportunities for us dun sa mga hindi regulated na profession.

Browse mo to http://www.workingincanada.gc.ca/cic/welcome-eng.do?lang=eng.  Type mo 1111.  dami nya ipapakita related occupations na nonregulated.  Yung availability, depende na siguro sa province na plano mo puntahan.  My relatives are in vancouver kaya dun ako nag-scout but sabi ng seniors sa forums, sa ontario daw magandang magland especially if you don't have relatives in Canada.

Pwede rin po bang pasali? Interesado rin po ako, kahit non-CPA po ako. BS Finance and Management Accounting po course ko. Pero nagwork po ako as General Accountant ng isang manning services company... Gusto ko rin pong malaman kung ano yung mga options na pwede...

CPA din ako jan sa Pinas pero andito ako ngayon sa Dubai nagwowork. Di pa rin ako sure ano ang plans ko. I checked CGA pero parang magastos.

Ano ba ang chances natin na makakuha ng work kahit hindi muna regulated katulad ng nabanggit ni Abilex?

Ang mahal kasi yata ng assessment fee plus ung bridging courses.

Ung full docs ko sinubmit ko last June 28 and up to now eh waiting pa rin ako for may 2nd AOR. Tagal kasi ng processing ng London Visa office eh. Pare-pareho pala tayo ng feelings. Wala akong ideya kung anong clerical jobs ang available at kung kaya ba nito i-support yung gastos natin pag nandun na tayo. Sana dapuan tayo ng swerte para hindi mahirapan pagdating natin doon.

Anong stage na ba application mo?

Na issue yung visa namin with my family nung 8th June.  Malapit na yan,  ako nagsubmit ako ng full docs namin sa Manila Visa Office nung 13th January 2010 and it was very fast.  Bakasyon muna sa Pinas for a month then off to toronto sa Sept.  I'll keep you posted kung anong mangyayari sa aking job hunting doon

Mariks, thank you sa pagpapalakas mo ng loob ko. According sa timeline ng ibang applicant s for London office it will take 2 months bago makareceive ng 2nd AOR tapos ung processing time it varies. Sana nga mapabilis. Kakastress na masyado eh.

Pag landing mo doon, ipost mo experience mo ha para makagpaghanda kami dito. Goodluck sa iyo doon pati na family mo. Balak ko din mag land sa Toronto, mas marami daw job opportunities doon eh.

Hi everyone!  pasali na rin.  i'm a cpa here in pinas and nag ppr na ko early july.  im hoping to receive my visa this august but will be landing march next year na in toronto.

im hoping to get a job as soon as arrive kahit clerical or administrative muna and later on decide on what i will pursue (ca, cga or cma).

Wag lang daw tayo pilian sa nature of work, opportunities are everywhere.  Mga relatives ko doon ay hindi naman mga professionals.  Nature of work nila, sa factory, sa health work, part-time cook, security guard... but they were able to buy their own homes and vehicles.  May tiyahin nga ako dun na HS Grad lang dito, nagstart dun (several years ago) as caregiver pero kabi-kabila work nya ngayon in different fields.  Health worker sya at the same time ay insurance broker at may paupahang bahay/apartment.  If I am not mistaken, nasa real estate din sya.  Masipag nga lang talagang mag-aral.  And she enjoys what she's doing.

Mariks and rizela, it seems as of now ay kayo ang mauunang makatapak sa lupa ng Canada so kayo magiging seniors namin.  Please keep in touch!  Goodluck to us all.
