Thanks Smallduck

but my file is currently with an Immigration Officer ( from Last 3 months),

what officer is doing for that long period?

I don't know what they really meant in the statement "application is currently with an Immigration Officer for review". it might be on queued somehow. You can ask like 90 day period has passed ad blah blah, I want official answer for the status Smiley

May 2011 will mark 2 years since applying for Canadian immigration. Its been quite a long journey and not ended. Still waiting for PPR since November 2010. ECAS says medical RBVO so the waiting game continues. I pray we all get medical request, PPR or PP very soon.

Cheers...

Yes, 2 years-this was supposed to be an 8-month thing-if i had known i would not have wasted time-is this delay a Buffalo office thing or is it everywhere?Maybe ALOT of people applied from the USA during the recession ...anyhow....what does RBVO mean?Huh

Did you take a look at Ecas this week. I got mine changed to "Decision Made" 3 weeks after receiving PPR. It shouldn't take too long for you, I guess. My Med Results will be expired Sep, so you won't probably be delayed for more than 2 months

RBVO means "received by visa office". I don't think anybody went through the entire process in 8 months except those that were nominated by Quebec or Alberta province. I actually started since 2008 but my application was returned twice, for some silly mistakes. By the 2nd time they add changed the process to Nova Scotia which was supposed to be faster, but alas here we are almost two years later.

I hope its not true that PPR is going out in July, my son has been accepted to University of Calgary and has to start school by August/September. I hear at this point you may not be able to get a student visa if you already applied for PR to Canada. Anybody has any insights on this PPR in July talk? I am getting a little bit nervous by this.

Yes I did, its still say Medical have been received by visa office. You got your PPR via mail right? It seems they changed from email to mail system. You never know with Buffalo/New York VO. I hope you get your PP back soon. When and where do you intend to land?

Hi, Smallduck

Please check replies that i got from NY. it is very strange. In Feb 01,2011 my file was under final review and on April 27,2011 file is under review.

so officer did final review first and then regular review..?

This is to acknowledge receipt of  the Right of Permanent Residence Fee for yourself and your spouse.  Your file is currently with an Immigration Officer for  final  review. In the interim, you must advise this office immediately in writing of any change in your civil status or family composition (i.e. marriage, divorce, birth of new child, etc.) or mailing address.

Please allow 90 days before requesting status of your application.

Thank you for your interest in Canada.

I don't know what this means Smiley). I haven't been contacted them too much but I have a feeling that the email systems was handled informally, I remember some of the emails sent out with a lot of typos.

I'm hoping that the PP will be back to me this month. It's 3 weeks already and I haven't seen it yet Wink. I will probably be landing in Toronto late June/early July and stay there for few days. I will come back and pick the PR card up sometimes late August, this summer was too busy for me to stay 30-40 days in Canada.
Let's see if I can set up a "happy hour" in Toronto with some other folks here!! I will keep you guys posted =))

I came across the other threads (I don't remember correctly but it might be Buffalo...). The thing is that from Jan 2008 to June 2010, CIC receive more than 440k applications (double the quota of 2009-2011 together) and about 140k applicants will be delayed for 2-3 years based on the Canada's market (aka job's priority).
You and I are really lucky getting in 2/3 of those 440k, Acelawyer Wink. Don't worry anymore, you won't be delayed until the Med Results expired.
