actually i am still not sure.they claim that 17th month period starts when a "full application is received by visa office", but which one: Buffalo or NYC? if its from a date of transfer to nyc,then it's still long way to go...  |

I agree Dream23, not sure when they start counting Abhi812: I am not in Canada. I am in US and have never visited Canada. I am thinking backup in terms of US (EB2-NIW) and Quebec. i apologize for extra curiosity..but just thinking of reasons of our delay..Are you involved in science/math, eg. working in labs etc..?
since that potentially could be reason for additional checks..

No worries Abhi812  I have worked in a lab in the past but that should mean that I have all the clearances. Nevertheless, the work I do is openly published and I had submitted FBI, state, and home country PCC's. To sum up I am puzzled. here our cases r similar.. i also worked in lab(and background was screened there throufh other than fbi system),also all results are openly published etc..
but i know people who are exactly in our situation, but ,for example, every time they apply for a us visa, they are send to a security check.. i guess these IO's just don't get into these details on how science works ..

You are probably right. I haven't gone for renewal of my US visa after working at the lab, but have heard similar security checks for some of my friends.

Hi MathCanada, I can feel your pain, because right now i am going through the same.. disapointment, dejectoin and depression.. My visa is coming to an end in june and till now no medical. Dont know what to do. Only thing is hope that something will hapen in another 15 -30 days. I have reuqested for case specific enquiry. I dont know how long will that take.. It seems your background check is done which is good, dont wory about the points, they must have calculated it but not updated it in the computer. so the next step for sure is medicals.. 2 mathcanada also,now you know, based on our comparison, that most probably nothing is wrong with exactly your application/case. it is probably our noc, our similar duties etc. that cause additional time delay.. i'm actually also in quite a trouble because my contract ends in september.. |

hey my friends i m in same boat too,
i got 2nd aor 3rd oct. still no update.
my visa exp in july, 2011
i m pharmacist not in usa. i m appearing for 2nd step for pharmacy exam for canada in may 2011. i have visitor visa. so wt u think should i goto canada and wait there or stay here.....
