Hi Mark,

We are in the same boat. On Feb 27, I received the exact same letter of yours. I first sent my application along with all supporting documents to Sydney NS back to Aug 2010.

Avbbs

Hi all, please add my details. I just was informed that I had been transfered to the NYC VO from BVO on Jan 10th. Oddly, I would never have known if I hadn't sent the BVO a job update via email the other day, to which I got this reply...

My ecas is still RBVO with no indication of transfer, but whatever, I'll take movement over gathering dust in Buffalo!

What can I expect as far as timeline?

My information is to the left, under my name.

Thanks!

Mark

I got an email reply from the New York Visa Office ten minutes ago with the following:

"Dear Sir:

This refers to your application for Permanent resident visa, be advised that instructions were mailed to you."

I have yet to receive any mail regarding instructions.  Should I take this vague email as a sign that Medicals were sent or that additional documents are required?

Instructions were mailed. Hmmm  if they requested for additional documents, they would write "document(s) requested".  In my case they wrote to submit the document requested ASAP.

On the positive side "Instructions"  could be medical brother.

I emailed them back to clarify, inquiring about when the 'instructions' were sent, as a month passing by seems like more than enough time for something to be sent from New York to Toronto.  Will keep you all posted.

Hi Vermas,

I also flew from India to US for PR visa stamping.I stayed in NJ and travelled to NYC(NewYork Penn Station) by NJ Transit.
Canadian Consulate is 1 mile away from  NY Penn Station.I took taxi to Canadian Consulate  @  1251 Avenue of the americas.
I reached there at 8:10 AM  with email confirmation for accessing the waiting area. I showed the confirmation letter then security allowed me to enter.

They called the token number and took the confirmation letter and passports and asked me to come  @  1:00 PM with acknowledgement ticket.

I went to consulate  @  1:00 PM , around 3 :00 PM they called my name returned the passports with immigrant visas stamped along with CoPR documents. They asked me to check all the details names ,dob, passport# etc before I leave the consulate.

I came out around 3:30 PM from the consulate.Hope this will help you. When are you planning to land in Canada.I'm planning to land in First week of april.

C u in Toronto Bro..by the way in which city are you planning to land.

Check the validity of all passports?
Make sure enough Blank pages..
Make sure photos are of the same dimensions as prescribed in PPR.
Try to present by 8:00 AM at the consulate.

All the best.

Congrats murthy909,

I am flying from India to NY to get my visa on 5 March 2012. Will really appreciate if you share your experience from the time you reached the consulate. Any precautions/preparations you wish to recommend. They have sent me a letter to facilitate access to the waiting room.

Best regards,

The document says birth , marriage, diploma and reference letters..

I am planning to re-enter this week.

Could anyone please share their experience.

Hi murthy,
Thanks for this information. I intend to land in Toronto around 15/16 April. I have lived in Richmond Hill for two years earlier, so will go there again. I am from Delhi, where are you from? Did you go out for sightseeing after submitting your passport to come back at 01:00PM or waited in the waiting room only? Was the token number given by security?

Cheers..

So New York Visa Office replied to my second inquiry regarding any updates.  As a recap, the first email they sent me on February 29 said "Instructions were sent to me"....  I replied inquiring about the instructions and when they were sent...

And then, today, March 2, I get this response:

"Be advised, that instructions were mailed to you on 1 March 2012 by regular mail."

Maybe they shoudl have said "instructions were mailed to you AGAIN" or something.  Anyways, more waiting for me on the mystery of what kind of instructions.  I'm praying for Medical request!!!
