I sent the express USPS envelop. NYVO received my passport on 25th Jan and I received it back on 1st Feb.

Good to hear, Quick question are you from Canada or US, did you created a corporate account or a personalized account with UPS. B'coz in the e-mail I received from NYVO for CANADA they mentioned "Unless it is prepaid from a corporate account, we will not return your documents using ANY courier services (Fedex, UPS, DHL)."

Please advise.

Good news!!  i received passport request email today.   I did my medicals and sent all the requested documents on Jan 20th, today NYVO has sent a email requesting my passport with 4 photo's.

Am residing in Canada, any suggestions on how to send my passport to visa office, below is the info given the email. 

For addresses in Canada:

Standard Procedure: The Consulate will return documents to addresses in Canada via U.S. Postal Service First Class Mail (Regular Mail).

Courier Service: Unless it is prepaid from a corporate account, we will not return your documents using ANY courier services (Fedex, UPS, DHL).

Congratulations to everyone who has gotten good news!

I was recently transferred from Buffalo VO to the NYC VO and am wondering if anyone had received job verification calls before (or after) medical requests were received? I'm just trying to wrap my head around how this visa office operates as compared to the one I just spent a year at.

Any help would be appreciated, as I'm starting to have a tough time keeping my old job references "in the loop".

Congrats everyone who has received their PPRs.

How long is it taking FSW1 candidates to receive PPR does anyone have any idea? It seems most of the people receiving requests seem to already be in Canada? Have any FSW1 applicants received their passport request after  having done medicals in the past 2 to 4 months. Thanks!!

My passport was received there on Jan 25 too! However, they havent returned it back!  I also prepared a prepaid FedEx envelop, no activity on that one either. I even dropped them a line asking for updates but they didn't get back to me!

I have changed my address 3 times in last 2 years (total time taken  for PR is 18 months).
I always sent updates through email to visa office and used to call CIC call center in Canada.

I dont think that will delay as NYVO will contact u through email (if you have given one)..

Congratulations to you as well.....even I got a PPR from New York Visa office.....I am currently in India....do you guys think I have to send the passport to NYVO or can I get it stamped in India only?

Hi to all,

I have a good news to everyone... I just got a passport request through E-MAIL from New York visa office this morning!!! 
No additional documents and they never mentioned if the interview was waived... Anyways they gave me 60 days to send my passport to them with accompanying 4 pictures and that was it!   

Here are some important information that might help you guys:
I did my medicals in advance last April 2011 in Ottawa, I am currently residing in Canada. Buffalo transferred my file to New York last October 26, 2011. I sent a letter to NY office 2 weeks ago informing them that I've done my medicals in advance and I attached the copies of the receipts. Then today I was surprised and I can't believe that the passport request is here!!! 

This is how my e-cas looks like:  IN PROCESS:

We received your application for permanent residence on January 21, 2010.
 
We reviewed your application and sent you a letter on March 12, 2010. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us.
 
Your application and supporting documents were received by the New York office. They are pending review.
 
We transferred your application to the New York office on March 17, 2010. The New York office may contact you.
 
We transferred your application to the New York office on October 26, 2011. The New York office may contact you.
 
Your application was reviewed and we started processing on December 13, 2011.


Don't loose hope guys, I think visa office are really working hard now to clear the backlog after they hibernate for a long time...
