File transfer from Buffalo- New york visa office- share timeline

My lawyer asked from me copy of our new passports to sent to Buffalo.That's my story.

You can not make mistake if you scan your son's passports and sent to New York.You have nothing to loose.

If you do not do that now you would do that later, however.

Do not listen your consultant whatever he/she says.If he/she is longer your lawyer his/her bill will be longer too.

You can do it by yourself.

I am in a weird situation here MP office informed that today that  NYC sent a document request on DEC 05, its funny that
I never received any and NYC also informed they are making final decision on  30 th Jan.

Wonder if that happened to others too.

Oh, I still have not recieved PPR..My medical request date was sep 16 th ..
after seeing you message, i am worried..it's been more than 4 months now..no email or    no postal mail also as of now..

Some bad news in my case, just now my agent called me that they got a brown envelope asking for a medical test again for my wife.

is there anybody else who face this before, means first medical was sent and then they ask for additional medical.

My dilemma is, can I go to a different DMP ??

any info will be helpful

Did  you see the request for another medical for your wife, they must have stated reason to redo it.

If not I would inquire with  the DMP if the report sent, was alright. Just for info thou.

I would go for another medical ASAP. Not much you can do right now but to send another one.

Yeah NYC should clear you file with 3-4 months from the date of transfer, which is standard.But I was worried coz they didnt communicated with me since the transfer.

They requested for IELTS score again, now I cant get a date before FEB 18   I will only book the test if I get a copy of the letter they sent me on NOV 29. They can go ahead and reject me if they want, tired of this  crap now.

Finally I received my passport back with the Visa. It was a nerve-racking journey for 2 years. But wait was worth it. Those of you, who are waiting for medical or PPR, have patience; lady-luck will be smiling soon.

Can you please share your timeline for PPR, date you sent the PP, and the PP received date? I just wonder how long it would take them to stamp the visa and return it back.

Hey Man .. I live in Mississauga, ON .. I sent them a prepaid UPS envelope I am not sure if they used it or they sent my passport using regular mail... I have to send them an Inquiry.. thanks man good luck.

I received the passports request last Friday and sent them today. Thank you al for ideas and experiences and my congratulations for those finished their process and my best wishes for those not finished yet. My e case says your medicals have been received. Do you have any advise about the landing from NS.

Please advise if you sent the passport using the regular mail or (FedEx or UPS) courier services. The reason I am asking this question is because in the letter I received for passport request they have mentioned ""Unless it is prepaid from a CORPORATE ACCOUNT, we will not return your documents using ANY courier services (Fedex, UPS, DHL)."

I tried opening a corporate account but FedEx refused to do so because I do not have a company registered under my name.

I am not sure if they expect us to have a corporate account or if even personal account with FedEx should work.

Just want to share my experience from PPR to landing.  I was out of Canada when the request arrived.

09 Jan 2012 - Received passport request by email (also by postal mail).  I send email to NYVO asking for an appointment on 27Jan2012 for visa stamping.
25 Jan 2012 - Arrived in Canada from Madagascar (29 hours total travel time).  Arrived in Toronto around 9:30pm
26 Jan 2012 - drove from Toronto to NYVO.  US boarder gave me up to 30Jan2012 to stay in US since my work permit will expire on the 31Jan2012
27Jan2012 - I was in NYVO office before 8:00am.  I was the second to be processed.  The visa officer gave me a appointment letter to get back 1:00pm to pick-up the passports.  I went back on the said time and waited for at least 1 hour.  The officer gave me all documents required to do landing process.
28Jan 2012 - Drove back to Toronto early in the morning.  Arrived in Lewiston bridge aroung 3:30pm.  I told the officer I want to process the landing.  He gave me a yellow paper and asked me to go the the office.  I gave all documents and the officer asked the following questions:
  1.  what is my present address in Canada
  2.  contact no. in Canada
  3.  any proof of financial status either employment certificate, bank statements or payslip

Since there are five of us, it took around 45 mins. for the officer to complete the COPR.  I signed in behalf of my children.
The officer congratulates us and explain the obligation of a PR which is to be in Canada for 2 years out of 5 years.  The officer also explained to process the SIN and OHIP.

2 years from now will be the Citizenship!

After 2.5 years of waiting, I finally got the immigrant status.  This forum really helped me a lot.  Thanks for all the people who shared their experience.  Goodluck to us all!!!
