They are now assessing eligibility of your file and a file selection decision for processing will be made shortly (should be with in 10 days). After 2 weeks, check the status again and it should say "We have started processing you file on xx-xx-2011'. That would mean you file has passed eligibility criteria and they would now proceed with security checks, issues Meds and RPRF etc.

hope fully you are right because i am tired of waiting.

Patience is the 'Key' talon. If everybody got PR within a month of applying, it would not be worth it. :-).

File Transfer to NY is a good news and shows progress being made on your file. Please check your e-cas status after two weeks. Have you applied for CAIPS report? I recommend you apply for it so that you know the current snapshot status of your file.

Good Luck !

To anyone waiting for MR,

Today I saw another guy whose file got transferred to NY office on Oct.26 received MR last week. They started to process his file on Nov. 8th, just 12 days after transferring.

I guess maybe some applications are more complicated so they handed to higher VO? Hope not!

I am wondering about my case which went into IN PROCESS on 19 Oct 2010  @  Buffalo, points calculated there, PSDEC done there, there are no objectionable comments in CAIPS and nothing is happening at NYVO despite MP's intervention on 10 November 2011 (which is mentioned in CAIPS). Standard reply was given to MP that the file is in que for processing. Which que?? I thought it was to be based on date of receipt/transfer.

We are on the same boat, vermas. I feel it does have a time queue based on the date of transfer, though it's not that obvious. In the whole November, they processed the application transferred on Oct, 2011 (from 5th to 26th) though ignoring some cases. Right now in December, they started to process the file transferred at the beginning of Nov. 2011.

These days I have been thinking about it. There might be 3 possibilities:

1. They think they need background check for some cases;

2. These cases are complicated or have some problems, they need to hand to higher-level VO;

3. A few part of cases was handled by some slow VO who is busy with some other work, so they are still pending for review.

I hope it's the third one. But things are still wired. If the Nov.6-transferring cases are being processed, where are the remaining Oct. cases? I mean they cannot all in the hand of one or two slow VO, because transferring date is different. (If slow VO's hand is full of Oct. 5th cases, he/she cannot take OCT 14th cases, hope I make it clear.)

There must be some reasons we don't know. I could understand Oct.19 guy got MR before Oct.14 guy, but I cannot understand why Nov.6th guy got MR, but Oct. 5th guy is still waiting.

Anyway, I am going to applying for CAIPS recently.

Hi Guys,

How we can send the passport to newyork.

Online it says:

Persons currently residing in Canada

Persons currently residing in Canada on a study or work permit who are applying for a new temporary resident visa must not submit a return mail envelope.
We are only able to return passports and documents to Canadian addresses by regular mail.

They will send the passport back in regular mail  Huh any experience in this?

My BFD date on in CAIPS notes is 22 January 2012. Dont know how/why? Mine is a sipmle case of FSW 3, no noc required, simple requirement was minimum one year as international student or temporary worker. I was there for two years. I am 25+ yrs, got 73 points, have been in India and Canada only so BG checks should not take that long. This Canadian PR is a real maze.

Its already 5 December, things are really going to slow down from 20 December to 10 January and annual visa quotas for missions expire on 31 December. Hope there will be wider window in 2012. Sincerely wish we get X-mas or New Year gift soon.

I'll join this thread. I had dropped off the forum for quite a while because my inquiry to Buffalo resulted in them saying they had no plans to process my application this year. I sort of stopped paying attention, but I checked eCAS last week and it said they had transferred my file to New York on November 16th. There's no other change in eCAS (it doesn't say they started processing it in the details, though it's been "In Process" for ages). Anyhow, I am going to assume it means they actually transferred the file or intend to do so. I saw further back in the thread that New York is not sending any confirmation that the file was moved besides an eventual MR, so I guess it's more waiting.

Congrats to those who have been processed in NY and gotten some traction, things seem to be moving slowly as usual, but moving nonetheles.

Hello,

Just wondering if a transfer to New York VO should show up on CAIPS notes?
eCas shows I was transferred to NY Nov 16, but I received CAIPS notes time stamped for Nov 23, 2011 with no mention of it.

And if any of you would like to help out with other related questions, I just posted another thread with a few questions, but didn't wanna congest this thread with many CAIPS note related questions, so it's here if you'd like to help:

Welcome back  Smiley. I hope it will be a short stay here before we get PR...
I received an email last week with subject "Acknowledgment Letter". The meat of the email is:
".... Your file has now been transferred to our office for the assessment and processing of your application. All future correspondence regarding your file should be with our office. Do not contact the Regional Program Centre (RPC) in Buffalo, New York.
Your file number remains the same.
......"
I was actually perplexed with this email and I asked forum members if this is outside the norm as I haven't seen this kind of letter being discussed. Eagerly waiting for MR Grin

You have to travel in person to VO. Pls check the landing story of Burcu whose VO is Detroit. Not sure if you can follow same process

You have to travel in person to VO. Pls check the landing story of Burcu whose VO is Detroit. Not sure if you can follow same process

HI vermas,

i will never trust the CAIPS. i applied for CAIPS for 4 times i got the same notes again and again. i even tried contacting the CAIPS office but i didn't get a proper reply. so i wouldn't trust CAIPS notes..
