Hello people!! Anyone knows when do we receive the FILE NUMBER from CIC after initially applying for Spousal Immigration? And do they send it to you by E-mail or regular mail? I'm a Canadian Citizen applying for my wife.

VISA ISSUED...: 01-05-2012 (as per COPR); 4May: Decision Made on eCAS; 8May: COPR rcvd (Canada address)
LANDED..........: 10-05-2012; 12May: Status in eCAS disappeared

We got it all via emails not regular mail. This is my case:

9Dec2011 - Email from CPC-Missisauga advising sponsorship was approved, with the file number & an UCI provided, but we could never logon using that UCI.
4Jan2012 - Email from visa office (Buffalo) advising the receipt of our application (AOR), with same file number & a new UCI provided. This we could log on to ecas.
