Are you applying outland or inland? I noticed that only the second option clearly says "in Canada", so it would seem that the second option is for inland applications.

If outland: Choose the fee options under Family Class. I applied outland and this is the option we chose; it went through fine.

If inland: Choose the options under Spouse and Common Law Partner in Canada Class.

A few tips:

  • Make sure you choose the correct visa office for processing. It is "Mississauga, Ontario" for outland applications. I believe the visa office for inland applications, however, is "Vegreville, Alberta".
  • In each case, don't forget to first choose the "Right of Permanent Residence Fee" ($490) at the very top, if you are going to pay it upfront.
  • If you're sponsoring just your partner/spouse, your other fees should be "Sponsorship application" ($75) and "Principal applicant" ($475).
  • They will email you the official receipt as a PDF file. When you print it out, make sure to fill in the sponsor's information on it. If the sponsor does not have a Client ID or does not know it, you can leave that part blank.
Good luck!

Tongue I mentioned this in my tips. Enter in the sponsor's information. The Client ID is a number given to people when they have dealings with CIC inside Canada (eg: visitor records). If the sponsor does not have a Client ID number or doesn't know what it is, you can leave that part blank.
