Can someone confirm what are the fees for submitting my application. I assume it is -

Family Class
Sponsorship application (per application)  x 1  $75.00
Principal applicant  x 1  $475.00
Total: $550.00

My wife is sponsoring me and we have no other dependants.

Please give me a sanity check, it has been a long day!

I assume that the landing fee is the Right of Permanent Residence Fee?

Right of Permanent Residence Fee  x1 $490.00
Sponsorship application (per application)  x1  $75.00
Principal applicant  x1 $475.00

Total: $1040.00

If money is tight, you can pay the Right of Permanent Residence Fee at a later time, when the processing is close to complete - the visa office will ask you to pay. But it's highly advisable you pay everything at once, if you can, to avoid delays later on.

if the fees are paid, is it necessary to include the breakdown of the fees paid into the application together with the receipt?

No. They will know what is being paid based on who you are applying for.
