I spent months trying to get PCC from abroad and had it fedexed on 20/10/09 for delivery on 23/10/09.
Shocker is when I tracked the package this morning it was held at fedex location for receipient to pick up. (sic)
On calling the toll free nos I was informed the envelope arrived open and empty.
Apologies! Apologies!! but meaningless to me.

So who opened it and took your PCC?

FEDEX needs to answer a lot of questions. Can they be sued?

Apparently customs opened the envelope and somebody did not do their job to ensure the envelope was re-sealed.
I have been asked to make a claim. Problem is no  $ value was stated for the document or NCV (no commercial value)
I am waiting for a call from fedex as to how much I can claim for.

you will not get any advantage from Fedex, i had the same problem exactly with Fedex, in the same document exactly, police clearance certificate(looks like FEDEX has an allergy against police clearance certificates!), it was sent from my country to canada by Fedex and it has never been delivered to me, Fedex lost it and they are very good in escaping the results of their fault.

I had to use Fedex again to send my full application to Buffalo visa office from canada because there is no other choice. People say here that FEDEX is still the best courier company even if they lose shipments sometimes.

Actually all couriers are the same, they might lose shipments even canada post, i remember when i asked the guy in canada post about sending my application to Buffalo, he said that no one can guaranty that your shipment will be delivered 100% so i went with FEDEX again at least they are faster than canada post(with the same level of risk).

Have a look at this link (that was my problem with FEDEX):

Loosing  PCC docs after so much of painful effort really atrocious. Can you arrange to get another copy because it is you who is going to suffer and FEDEX might give upteen reasons to escape.Iknow it is difficult. All the best.
